And video games—specifically, hand-held video games—now keep parents from killing children on long car trips.

I mean, that’s what I assume. I have no personal experience here. Ahem.

If you’ve got a kiddo (or, okay, a significant other) who might need some new games for Christmas or whatever, you might want to cruise on over to Toys R Us. Right now you can buy 2 video games and get the 3rd free on most of their stock. Lots of stuff is already marked down, too.

And yeah, some “latest and greatest” game is going to come out between now and Christmas, but you can probably get three games now for less than what that one will cost you. Just sayin’.
