When I still worked in an office I absolutely loved the “demotivators” series from Despair, Inc. And look! Right now, all of their inspirational lithographs are on sale!
Makes a great gift for the not-so-hardworking person in your life, or as a great addition to any gift swap (white elephant, yankee swap) where you want to watch people fight over it.
hehe. the new girl in our HR department (well, new, as in 6 months ago) ordered a couple of the actual motivational ones and was SO proud to hang them on the walls in HR a week or so back. she couldn’t understand what my “are you serious? you’re kidding, right?” face was for. lol. and yes, i did have to read them, just to make sure they weren’t the sarcastic ones. they weren’t.
I love those things. My old boss had the “compromise” poster prominently displayed whenever his boss came to visit.
I have the “Wishes” lithograph in my office at work. It reads, “When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it’s really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you’re pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it’s death by meteor.”
It is so excellent because until a person reads the small print, they think I have one of those icky “successories.” Then when they read it, they LOVE it.
Someone posted a set of these de-motivators in our staff lounge last year. I got blamed. No, I didn’t do it, but if I’d owned them, I would have! These just crack me up.
