Hostess gifts, anyone?

Tis the season to go a’visiting. You know me—I believe food is an appropriate gift for just about anything. Make it all fancy and such by putting it on something pretty they can keep.

This Mikasa winter platter is crying out for some good cookies. (At only $14.99, maybe you’ll even use ’em for teacher gifts.)

I’m less enthralled by this Godinger crystal bowl, though it’s even cheaper at $6.99. It just doesn’t seem right for cookies. Pudding, maybe.

Mmmmm… pudding. (What were we talking about…?)

  1. Pudding would work, but a fine assortment of holiday chocolates would fill that bowl very festively, don’t you think???

  2. Mmmmmm….. Christmas M&Ms….

  3. Ooo…buckeyes (the confection not the tree seed) would look divine in that bowl. If anybody (even a total stranger) wanted to make some and give them to me in that bowl, I would totally let them in my house, such is the allure of buckeyes to my tummy.

  4. Speaking of Mikasa, they are closing all their retail stores very soon (by the end of the year? By spring, for sure) and now you can get smoking deals at the stores. All the stuff is marked down, plus last time I was there, they were taking an additional 30% off. It’s a good time to fill out a Mikasa pattern. Just sayin’.
