If you build it, they will play

The saddest thing about your children growing older is not that they are no longer small and squishy and think you’re omnipotent, but that their toys get smaller and smaller and have pieces that clog your vacuum cleaner.

(I’m going to put that on a bumper sticker. My wisdom, it is vast.)

So, speaking as a mom who spends half her life vacuuming up Lego pieces—and don’t get me wrong, I love Lego for playing, just not so much for cleaning—I rather miss the halcyon days of yore. I’m speaking, of course, of the days when we had Mega Bloks.

If you have little ones, check out the Wonder Builders Bag, Build N Race Bag, and Construction Bag. Right now they’re all 60% off (the two smaller sets are good gift closet items for preschoolers, too), and I promise they’re too big to vacuum.

  1. Thanks! I was just looking for a little gift for a 2 year old boy. Perfect!

  2. at what age would you say boys outgrow these? I’ve got a 4-year-old on my list…

  3. That’s a little long for a bumper sticker. It should be next to one that says, “If you can read that other bumper sticker, you’re too close.” 🙂

  4. WooHoo! My local toys for tots says they need more toys for young kids, so I just scored these to donate.
