I can’t wear petites either, but at Talbots they say that non-petite women can generally just buy one size bigger in petites. So, at 5’10 I have actually done that before and it worked!
I’m pretty tall, and the petite things in the stores always look like doll clothes to me when I mentally compare them to what’s in my closet.
