It says it has stain scrubbers

I just love little freebies of laundry detergent—it saves me from buying a whole big bottle of something to find out if I like it. This new Tide with Dawn detergent claims to be even tougher on stains than ever before, but who knows if that’s really true. I’ll have to try it to find out.

And during the 6-8 weeks while I’m waiting for it to arrive, I can fantasize that the StainScrubbers it includes are a few burly women who will do my laundry for me.

Stop looking at me like that.

  1. Why do they have to be women? I’m thinking I’d take a few burly men to do my laundry. 😉

  2. I love the questions they ask on these things:

I like my clothes to be stain free:

No, I prefer them full of stains! It adds charactuer

I would never willingly buy this brand of detergent:

But perhaps if there were a gun to my head…

  3. I love these because I always run out of detergent when I have one more load to do. If I have one of these handy, I’m saved!

  4. FWIW, back a million years ago when I was an acting student, I spent many long hours in the costume shop, and Dawn was our go-to solvent to get greasy stage makeup off of clothing. We’d use a little scrub brush to work the Dawn into the stain, et voila. So I’m guessing that Tide with Dawn would work well on greasy messes. I think I’m too lazy to even bother getting a sample… I’ve got some Dawn in the kitchen in the event of a greasepaint emergency.

  5. My husband uses Dawn on stains. And as painful as it is for me to admit it…it actually works. My step-daughter got marinara sauce on a white shirt…I treated it with Shout (my preferred stain remover) and I put it in the washer and it still had the stain after washing. So I took it to the kitchen sink and put some dawn on it and scrubbed it in and washed it again. No more stain. It’s possible that he will eventually convert me and I’ll start using Dawn on all our stains and get rid of the Shout.

  6. LIke Summer and Jenni, I also use Dawn on stains, especially grease stains. You know, you’re folding nice, warm laundry from the dryer and there it is, the grease stain on the front of your favorite black t-shirt. I keep a little flip top bottle filled with Dawn in the laundry room and immediately squirt a bit on the offending stain. Set it aside for the next washing and voila! the stain is gone!! I would hope for Tide with Dawn to work just as well, in 1 step instead of two!

  7. I’m hoping this works as well as using dish detergent on grease stains, too–I’m always having to run up to the kitchen to squirt a little on a shirt when I’m doing laundry. Yeah, I could just put a bottle by the washing machine, but running back and forth is my weekly workout…

  8. I love free samples!

    THANK YOU!!!

  9. Dawn, huh? I’m going to buy a bottle just for the laundry room. Thanks for the tip!

  10. Have you read Supermom Saves the World by Melanie Lynn Hauser? Supermom meets up with the cutest little scrubbing bubbles…I want some for pets. I’ll pet them and feed them, and they can clean my house.

  11. I frequently fantasize about those Dow scrubbing bubbles. Ah, just picture flinging a few into the house as you leave to do your shopping, and coming back to a sparkly, clean, sanitized, fresh home. Sigh!

  12. I had never heard of using dish soap on laundry! Well worth reading the comments!

  13. These samples are great for the trip to the laundromat. My washer broke and I had to brave the place, but who wants to haul the economically good value large container of detergent. I pulled out a sample I had!
