Sorry for the spotty presence ’round here the last day or so. We’re gearing up for a trip and despite my wishes to the contrary, the house does not clean itself and the same children who once boycotted pants are insisting on wearing clean clothes on a regular basis, even though I just did the laundry. Little ingrates. Between all of that and work, I’ve had precious little time to deal surf. I’m also holding off on another contest until after the holiday, so that more folks are around.
Anyway, here’s a few things to keep you busy:
If you have a bit of time and patience, there’s a ton of great clearance at Dillard’s right now. That’s the good news. The bad news is that their site doesn’t allow you to visit a “sale” section; you have to go into a regular section (say, Dresses) and then keep paging through until you start seeing “New lower price!” in red underneath items. The sale stuff is always at the end of the section, so once you find the page where it starts, you can just browse from there to the end. (I may or may not have gotten a dress, a couple of shirts, and a pair of shoes for about $35. Just sayin’.)
Also, pretty reader Angela was kind enough to alert me to the fact that Season 1 of 24 is currently available at Amazon for just $16.99. I watched 24 for a while when it premiered and decided it stressed me out too much, but if you’re not as much of a wimp as I am, that’s a pretty phenomenal deal.
Now, does anyone want to come over here and help me pack?
Love the Monty Python reference… 🙂 And the deals, of course, too!
I’ve been watching all of 24 – available through season 6 from Netflix. Even my dd (11) loves it.
You can type “sale” into the search box at Dillards once you’re in the section you like (say women’s shoes, perhaps) and it will show you all of the sale items. I’m just saying!
Nicole, thanks for the tip.
I have to say, I think I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve realized life’s too short to deal with shopping sites that don’t let me sort by price. No way am I paying a fortune for a handbag, so the fact that one’s $25 the next is $250, the one after that is $39, the next is $149….gak! I realized I’ve gotten used to sites like endless.com and their excellent sorting system when I wandered to a couple of other shoe sites the other day, too. I’m apparently awfully spoiled.
Gee, I was HOPING you’d do a contest when everyone but ME was out of town! 😉
I just scored big time at Dillards! In their infant girls section they had a ton of their dresses/ capri sets steeply discounted!
It wasn’t hard at all to find the clearance items. I just searched the entire inventory for infant girls, 80 per page, and went tot he last page. All of the clearance items are grouped together on the last couple of pages.
Thanks so much for the tip! Now my girl will be fancy (next year – I’m buying a year ahead), and it didn’t even break the wallet!
