Big digital picture frame deal

It’s both a big deal and a big frame. See what I did there? (Note to self: Have some more coffee. Or possibly less coffee.)

Anyway, check out this this 10.4″ LCD picture frame from Genius at Buy.com. At under a hundred bucks (and free shipping) it’s just about the best frame deal I’ve seen in a while.

Then again, I’m probably the last person in America not to have a digital frame, yet. My life is hard, y’all.

  1. You’re one of two people in America without a digitial frame…

  2. One of three people :0P

  3. Keeps growing. I’m 4. I just don’t get it.

  4. We use our computer screen saver to flash random family pictures, making it kind of like a digital frame. Though we just read that when not in use, the monitor should be turned off to conserve electricity. Some big companies are ordering employees to do that and saving bundles. Anyway… what were we talking about? Oh– make me the 5th.

  5. Make me 6th in line. Don’t see the use of it – if I want to see pictures, I LOOK at them. I don’t want to sit in front of a device and wait for them to flicker through!

Nope, I’m an instant gratification kind of gal….

  6. You know what? I don’t actually KNOW anyone who HAS a digital picture frame, and it’s not like I live in Podunk!

  7. I don’t have one yet either.

  8. I still have my TV from 1993 – a 13″. I think you’re safe for quite awhile.

  9. Don’t have one either.

  10. I guess I don’t know why people purchase these. If you have a computer, you can view your digital pictures whenever you want. Maybe I’d get one if they were $10. But this doesn’t come anywhere near making my list of items I’m willing to spend $70+ on. You know how many pairs of shoes (on clearance) I could get for that kind of money?!

  11. I have one (well, not this huge one, like a 4×6″) that my husband bought me for Mother’s Day. I’m a pretty geeky gal – I love my gadgets, but this? Still sitting in its box. I just don’t get it either. I sit at a computer all day; I can scroll thru pics of my kids whenever I want for free…

  12. I don’t have one either. I find it distracting to have the picture keep changing on me (a co-worker has one and it drives me nuts when I’m in her office).

  13. Maybe I’m the only digital frame sucker in America. I bought one for my mom for Mother’s day. I love them and wish I could justify the splurge for myself.

I know my computer can do the same thing on its screensaver (and it does), but not out in our family areas. It sparks all kinds of memories for me to see Mom’s scrolling through a selection of family photos… much more engaging (and less cluttered) than a tabletop or mantel crammed with static frames.

If you think of the price of displaying just 10 of your favorite photos in nice frames, it makes the digital one seem like a bargain, in my opinion.

  14. I don’t have one yet, but I do want one. I have several friends who are jewelry designers (I am an aspiring designer) and they love their digital picture frames to show their sold pieces to customers, and sometimes even the process of making them. It’s a lot easier than lugging around a computer or laptop.

Mir, if you ever run a contest to win a digital picture frame, I am so in!

  15. Cyn, what a good idea. I should get one for hubby (he’s a contractor). He could take it potential customers and show them his bee-yoo-ti-ful works!
