It’s not too early to start holiday shopping

I know there are those of you out there who want to smack me for suggesting you start your holiday shopping in August. But I also know that there are those of you who finished long before August even arrived, so hopefully it all evens out.

Anyway, right now Toys ‘R’ Us has hundreds of items with free shippingicon, including the fabulously cool Playmobil Christmas items which typically sell out pretty early in the season. Each of these is just $16.99 with free shipping:
Christmas in the Forest Advent calendar
Playmobil Nativity set
Playmobil Advent calendar (okay, this one is actually $17.99, and I’m not sure how it differs from the other one, but there you are)

We have that nativity set, by the way. It has about a gajillion pieces, and my kids still play with it every year. Although I do occasionally find a random Lego guy hanging out in the manger.

  1. I think there’s a $5 off $25 purchase coupon out there somewhere for Toys ‘R Us, too. But I don’t know where it is. Or who told me about it. It could have been you, actually. Thanks for all the great deals!

  2. I love to hear about Christmas ideas now….I have already started putting things away!

  3. Is it strange I started shopping and making lists in May? I want good deals and to shop on my own terms!

  4. I’ve actually been waiting for the Christmas posts to start! I’m alot less stressed when I can spread out the costs of Christmas shopping over a few (or four) months. 🙂

  5. oh yes, keep the Christmas posts coming! I am hoping to get a “deal” on a couple of Nintendo DS units. Also- my kids have been playing with the Playmobil Nativity for Years! It is part of our holiday tradition-unpacking the playmobils!

  6. Instead of Playmobil Nativity, we have a Fisher Price Little People Hanukkah set. Though the mom from the Hanukkah set also likes hanging out in the graham cracker / Nutella sukkahs we make in the fall.

  7. In for the Forest set – too cute! Thanks for the link, I used to love Playmobil sets when I was young…
