Making your voice heard is the best bargain

If you haven’t done so already, I trust that all of you over the age of 18, who are American citizens, are planning to get out and vote tomorrow. We’re not going to have a political discussion, here—I’m not suggesting you vote for anyone in particular—just go exercise your right to participate in the democratic process. We are lucky to be able to do so!

And then, after you’ve done your duty as a citizen of this country (in what may well be the most important election of our lifetime), check out Fast Food Maven to find out where you can get post-voting freebies. Me, I’ll be headed from the polls straight to Starbucks for my free coffee.

Mmmmm… democracy.

  1. I am so pissed about this! If I had known that voting early was gonna cost me free stuff I totally would have held on to my I’m a GA Voter sticker. 🙂

  2. ooh, me too. I tossed that sticker last week and now wonder who I can con out of theirs tomorrow. 🙂 Maybe DH still has his in his car somewhere.

  3. also grab a free donut from krispy kreme, free coffee from books a million, free chicken sandwich from chick-fil-a, a free meal from shane’s rib shack, and free ice cream from ben and jerry’s. Mmmm… voting day

  4. Looks like those of us who voted absentee will miss out on freebees, too. 🙁 Good thing the right to vote is priceless! 🙂

  5. Bummer that I voted absentee since I’m out of state until Wednesday… Lush Boston @ Newbury Street (in Boston) is also giving away a free treat with an I Voted! sticker, as well.

  6. I’m not seeing anything about Chick-fil-a doing anything on their website, so that may be a regional thing.

  7. Wow… all those deals… My Books-A-Million, Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, and Chik-Fil-A are all right near each other. I could eat well tomorrow after I vote!

  8. i’ll be in line behind mir at starbucks. mmm coffee.

  9. NPR this morning had a story about the laws governing “incentives to vote.” Which are illegal. They said that the companies that were planning to give out freebies if you show your “I voted” sticker will give freebies out to anyone who comes in and/or anyone who comes in and SAYS they’ve voted. Worth a try or a phone call.

  10. This is a great reference blog, glad I happened on it. My daughter will be coming home in Dec after a long tour in Japan (Air Force). Whatever the give aways are, I’m sure her family will appreciate all.
    God Bless America!
