I agree with DW: I SO WISH I needed a car seat! Man, I always wanted a Britax and always settled for the less-expensive ones—but this is LESS EXPENSIVE THAN THE LESS-EXPENSIVE ONES, and that is going to KILL ME DEAD.

Our toddler is currently in a Marathon with a girl-style cover, and we’ve caught a Regent on sale a few months ago so when our little boy (due February) needs a convertible car seat some time next year, we were just going to get a new cover for the Marathon and move our daughter to the Regent. But this car seat actually costs less than a new cover! And now we’ll have an extra car seat, and Camilla won’t have to give up her current one until she wants to! This is so awesome, and for this deal alone it’s been worth having Want Not on my feed reader for all these months!

Wow! I wanted this carseat when my now 2.5 year old was born. We ended up settling for an Evenflo, which is fine. So I just purchased this for my sister. I told her that because I found the deal she has to give it to me when she is done with it. I am jealous. Maybe I should get another for me…….

I just ordered one. My baby will be outgrowing his infant carrier soon and I’ve never been able to afford Britax before. I am SUPER excited!! That is an amazing price- had to get one for the second car. My kid will be out of it in less than four years although not sure about future kids. Great for now!

i was still able to add it to my cart by searching for britax marathon – you can click add to cart (but nothing else) and it seems to work.
WHAT A GREAT DEAL!!! I was still able to get one by clicking the link (where I recd the “Sorry…” message) then typing Marathon in the search box at the top. When the right seat shows up in the search results, click “add to cart” (you still won’t be able to go to the detail page without getting the “Sorry” message).
Went all the way through checkout. It did say that it wouldn’t be delivered until Dec 28, but… at the price I would wait a year!!!

Out of stock now, but OMG! I had this same carseat for my 6 year old daughter up until two years ago when I wrecked my car and had to replace it. I paid about $250 for ours about 5 years ago!

thanks for link liz! After watching it I googled “Marathon mistake Target” — and the results were insane. I had no idea how widespread anger was over this pricing glitch. I’m actually curious about how many orders were actually placed/confirmed/shipped. There had to have been THOUSANDS of orders placed.
Target was covered because their pricing mistake policy is stated on their website, but there are entire boards still trying to organize boycotts, etc.
The WantNot readers’ response was definitely the most level-headed (e.g. Kris’s “Yup.Cancelled.Oh well!”)
