All this and the Friday Sale, too

After a week of deals at Amazon, the Friday Sale feels a little superfluous, I’ll admit, but that’s not going to stop me. (And yes, the prices are bouncing around crazily on some of the aforementioned deals, and yes, I miss the price-adjustment days, too. This is the downside of Prime, I’m discovering—orders go into process so quickly, if there’s a price drop I can’t just cancel the original order and reorder at the new price.)

Alright—time for a look around.

I understand that the HydroSurge RapidBath system is for giving your pet a thorough 3-minute bathing, but what I want to know is: Will it work on my kids?

I am so intrigued by this 3-in-1 crock pot system—it’s one base with three different size crocks. (Only 25% off, but still a great price, especially considering how heavy it must be to shop!) If I didn’t already own two crock pots….

I don’t expect anyone who reads Want Not to actually buy a Blendtec Blender (though that is $50 cheaper than I’ve ever seen it before), but if you’ve never watched the videos they put out over at Will It Blend?, check it out to see what a real blender can do. (Just a little Friday gift from me to you.)

I think the Sonic Boom alarm clock is a great gift for the college student in your life. (Or elementary school student who is capable of sleeping through the alarm.)

Hmmm… after the toy frenzy this week, I’m just not all that impressed. Even the video game specials are leaving me cold, today. (But that’s probably because they’re all XBox games. Maybe if you have an XBox you’ll feel differently.)

Ooooh—today’s Gold Box Deal is the entire X-Files series on DVD (61 discs!!) for $123.99 shipped. That’s kind of awesome.

Don’t forget to check out the Friday Five, five MP3 albums for just $5 each. They have They Might Be Giants — Here Come the 123s, today, which is a great album for kids.

The Holiday deal today at Endless is 40% off the Belfast shoulder bag, which is gorgeous but still pretty pricey. Maybe useful for someone who’s been saving their pennies for that very thing.

Today’s St. Nick’s Pick at Lands’ End is $30 off goose down jackets for men and women. Don’t forget that going through that link gives you free shipping on everything, just in case you have other shopping to do at Lands’ End today.

I’ll keep an eye out for any other sale madness, today, but it could be that Black Friday/Cyber Monday/etc. is finally winding down. Maybe.

  1. I so want the three in one crock pot (and I work at a kitchen store in an outlet mall and have to look at it every time I go into work-TORTURE!). It is also sold at Target and it comes in a stainless/black combo if you don’t like the white/colored crocks combo.

  2. The crockpot is awesome 🙂 I bought it on clearance early fall for $30!!! My mom wanted one, but we couldn’t find anymore, so I just ordered this one a couple days ago to be from my dad 🙂 It’s great to have 3 crocks!!!

  3. On Christmas day(or Easter…) you can never have too many crocks! 😉 I don’t want to be cooking and entertaining, so in the morning after the kids have unwrapped gifts, I put a roast in one, all day mac and cheese in another, and on and on… VIOLA!

  4. Love that crockpot. Bought mine on clearance at Target for about $32.00. . . .(I own three others and planning to get another “Little Dipper” crockpot.) MKW

  5. I hope Lands End gives you a commission because I just ordered that coat! $69 is a great price for a warm jacket like that… now I won’t have to be outside raking leaves in my way-too-expensive Brooks Brothers peacoat anymore 🙂 (I guess the neighbors will have to think up some new reasons to call me crazy!)

  6. OK, all you crock lovers, I have a question. How in the world does it get everything hot enough to actually cook in the big crock that sits 75% out of the heating part? Also, does it come with three lids so you can use all three crocks (maybe in the oven?) at once? My old crock heater thingy has given up but the crock says not safe for use in the oven. Boo Hoo. I sooo need a big crock that will work in the oven too. I don’t have room for a seperate oven dish that is big enough.

  7. Mir, thanks for the Lands’ End deal! I just got free shipping on monogrammed stockings for the kiddos. 🙂

  8. TMBG are freaking awesome. I grabbed hear come the ABCs as soon as I saw that. Their kids stuff is great too!

  9. I bought that Lands’ End coat a week ago–it’s awesome! Of course, now I wish I had waited but it suddenly got too cold for comfort here. Apparently they don’t offer price-drop adjustments for these one-day sales, but I did get free shipping on it via this site, so it was still a pretty good deal. Highly recommend!

  10. I have the Sonic Boom alarm clock. I LOVE IT.

  11. Mir! The X-Files box! I think I love you! Wooo!

  12. O.K., just went to “Will it Blend” and must IMMEDIATELY thank you for making my day. That’s even better than the Ronco commercials on TV.

    Really.

  13. I can HIGHLY recommend the Sonic Boom alarm clock! I’m deaf and use the bed-shaker version…it’s the only thing that could possibly wake me up. (Flashing lights just don’t do it and obviously I can’t hear an alarm.)

I’ve used mine for years and it’s still going strong. 🙂

  14. Wow, $300 for a blender! I’ll have to keep that in mind in case I ever need to blend some golf balls or a GPS. There are some crazy things on the market these days!

  15. I would love the crockpot…if I hadn’t just gotten a new regular one for my birthday. My mother has the 3 in 1 and loves it.

  16. Hi Mir — If you have time, can you let us Numi fans know if there is still that coupon thingy to take $10 off two? I gave one at a Yankee swap last week and it was the biggest hit of the night. I love to be popular, so I want more. I’m too stingy to buy another one without the coupon code, though. But you knew that…

  17. Just wanted to thank you Mir, for today’s $5 MP3 deal – the soundtrack of Rocky Horror Picture Show is such a musical snapshot of a great part of my life…I made the kids do the Time Warp with me in my kitchen THREE TIMES!

  18. And they submitted, Jeanmarie? Great scott! 😉

  19. I have more than one crock pot already and find myself using them simultaneously sometimes – especially when we have larger gatherings. I never regret having more than one. I snapped up three of those three-in-1 crockpots today. One for the mother, one for the mother-in-law and one for myself. There was a bundle offer on Amazon with two cookbooks – one with recipes for two and one Cooking Light Slow Cooker cookbook so I actually bought both the books for mom and mom-in-law and the cooking light for myself. Perfect gifts and shipped directly to the recipient. Mir, you rock!
