My daughter and I were just unpacking a box of stuff from The Children’s Place sale and she was reading the price tags and asking me what I’d actually paid for each thing. It was great fun to watch her eyes widen as I explained that yes, those $20 shoes? $6. “You always get things cheap,” she said. I felt a little swell of pride.
Of course, with Mother’s Day coming up, even non-bargain-ninja moms can rake in the savings. Like right now at Barnes & Noble, you can take 20% off the highest-priced item in your order with coupon code H4E7B3W. You don’t even have to be a mom! Combine that with any of their suggestions Mother’s Day gifts (many of which are already marked down 40%) and you’ve got a great bargain on your hands.
And then your kids can tell you how cheap you are. Good times!
In my family, cheap is a very good compliment! :o) And I just found your website in the last week or so, and I love it!
My daughter could knows enough to ask if something is a “red hot bargain” before bothering to ask for anything. DH has shortened it to RHB, as in, “Got any RHBs today?”. We got our box today too. wheeee (except for the shirt they cancelled after the order thus killing my carefully coordinated outfits… grrr)
I took advantage of that Children’s Place sale to fill the goody bags for my daughter’s birthday party — $1.50 for butterfly headbands, $1.50 for butterfly hair ties, and $2.50 for flip flops with, you guessed it, butterflies. Actually, the flip flops weren’t even on sale. I went into a store and was amazed by how cheap that place sells things on clearance — I have paid more for The Children’s Place items at consignment!
We just got our box of Children’s Place goodies, too! My daughter is wearing her new PJ’s right now (sick day). So glad you gave us that tip. I usually buy things here and there when they are on clearance and end up with a mishmash of stuff, but I think THIS is the way to go – everything coordinates! Wish I’d had Carrie’s idea about the party favors. Next time…
ooh we had a BALL opening our box too! 5 outfits for each daughter plus shrugs and purses for the dresses I got for a wedding we are going to in 2 months . . . they have lots of luv for mamma today!! (I’m not above buying my children’s love) lol
I got my TCP order on Friday and it was so nice seeing 4 shorts, 5 shirts, socks and a pair of PJs for $37 shipped!
You know what is making me ker-razy about TCP is the way the store sales are now (1) better and (2) earlier, than the online sales. The nearest store to me is 35 minutes away, and it’s one of the smaller ones that doesn’t carry everything. Ack! Ack ack ack! So now I have to decide: better prices on tragically limited selection? or higher prices PLUS (reasonable, I admit) SHIPPING to get stuff online? Ack! Ack!
