Friday! Sale!!

I may be a little more excited about the Amazon Friday Sale this week than is strictly necessary. But the kids have been back to school for a whole day and I’m looking for familiar things to cling to. Things that don’t whine or accuse me of hiding backpacks. Ahem.

I love this—know how we’ve been talking about nonstick pans, lately? And the whole “Oh my gosh is Teflon going to kill me?” thing? Check out this set of Earth Pans, non-stick cookware that’s good for you and the planet. At around $110 for 10 pieces (okay, that counts the lids, but really, it’s still 6 pieces), it’s economical to go green!

Rawr! Purchase this sexy red KitchenAid Pro mixer and be eligible for $40 cash back and a subscription to Food & Wine magazine. Come to Mama, baby.

Worst-named product ever: This continuous pulp-ejection juicer. I mean, I’m sure it’s a lovely product. But… seriously?

Perhaps it comes of having been a trend-conscious middle-schooler when Swatch watches were big (and don’t any of you young whippersnappers dare ask me, “What’s a Swatch?”), but I have a thing for watches where you can see the gears. Yes, I’m a dork. Anyway, while the sale watches usually don’t move me, I love this Kenneth Cole watch as a perfect blend of formal and funky for a guy. (If you want something cheaper, and/or don’t want the visible gears, check out this Fossil watch, instead.)

Today’s Gold Box Deal is the 12-disc Cirque du Soleil anniversary edition set, perfect for encouraging your children to run off and enjoy the circus! (Kidding. Probably.)

And of course, don’t forget that there’s 50 MP3 albums for just $5 each available in their music store. While I still miss the Friday Five, I have to admit it’s nicer to have an entire month to pick out which of those 50 albums I can’t live without.

Have a great Friday, everyone!

  1. Whee! This is the first time in a long time that your Friday post beat me to the computer (I usually don’t get to see it until I check my computer on SATURDAY morning). Must be up all bright and early, what with the kids back in school and feeling motivated and all. 😉

  2. OMG Swatch watches. I wanted one SO BADLY, and I saved up my babysitting money to buy one, and I never bought one BECAUSE I COULDN’T CHOOSE.

  3. Oh man, for a minute I thought Swatches were part of the Friday Sale and I was super excited. Now I’m going to go look for a Swatch.

  4. Italian kid’s sneakers at 60% off, and we’ve got two weeks left until the start of school. Don’t try to hold me back, ladies, I’m going in.

  5. may the force be with you, summer. don’t forget to strap on your swatch first.

  6. cooks illustrated did a piece on green skillets and concluded that they weren’t that green (ceramic and silicone materials required more resources to manufacture), not totally safe (still used PTFE), and didn’t perform that well. They recommended staying with traditional non-stick or cast-iron.

  7. Sweet! My parents love Cirque de Soleil – that’s one Christmas present done. 🙂 Thanks!

  8. I was in NYC for the first time ever a couple of weeks ago, and we walked by a Swatch store. An entire STORE of Swatch watches and stuff. And I was all, “They still MAKE those?!?!?!” Heh.

  9. Swatches! Loved them. Good times….good times.

  10. continuous pulp-ejection juicer? I had to see it. Just had to.

  11. omg..I was *dying* for the Swatch with the gears showing, and my mom wouldn’t let me get one because she didn’t like the “guts” of the watch exposed. I is a grownup now..I can haz nekkid Swatch?

  12. Swatch watches….siggghhhh….I had 2 of them..my host brother from Germany gave me one (straight from Germany) and I thought I was the cat’s meow!
