Drink the Disney Blu-ray KoolAid

Traci sent this one along, and she’s very pretty, not the least of which because she says, “While I don’t have a Blu-ray player yet, I know it is inevitable that my family will eventually get one. So instead of buying regular DVDs I try to get the Blu-ray/DVD combo packs when available (and a digital copy thrown in is even better!).” That’s smart thinking.

So here’s the deal: Right now you can buy an Up Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and get $10 off another Blu-ray disc at Amazon. The best bang for your buck is the 4-disc Up set plus the 4-disc Monsters Inc. set, but you could choose something else if you liked. (8 discs for around $30, though—that’s hard to beat.)

Just use coupon code DISNEYBD at checkout for your additional savings.

  1. Awesome! We planned on buying Up! anyways so now I have that AND Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure, for just over $30 shipped. Thanks!

  2. SWEET! Up was already on the list of things to buy and I got BR/DVD combo of Pinocchio as well (we already have Monsters Inc.) So pretty, Mir!

  3. Drunk!

  4. I didn’t see the Monsters Inc. listed as a qualifying disc.. They only listed 38 specific discs, can I choose others? Actually, what I really wanted to do was get two copies of Up (Christmas presents, of course) but they said the code wouldn’t work, although it seemed like it should have. Do you know how I could get this resolved?

  5. I just bought the Up blue ray/dvd pack yesterday and didn’t get the other $10 off deal. Darn!

  6. Thank you, Mir!! Our three year old stepped on and broke our Monsters Inc DVD a couple months ago and is still asking to watch it every week. Now I can replace that and get UP at the same time for $32…whoo-hoo!!!

  7. Bonnie, not sure about getting two Up DVDs but to get the Monsters, Inc. with Up, just go to the product page of either movie and scroll down to the “Best Value” section and you’ll see both movies listed together. Click “add to cart” and the $10 will be taken off automatically (no need for a code). Hope that helps!

  8. Urgh. I thought Blu-Ray players (when we ever get one) would play our pitiful regular DVD collection. Just not as prettily as it would Blu-Ray discs. I’ll just go crawl back under my rock now.

  9. Brigitte….blu-ray players will play your regular DVD (just not as prettily)…at least ours does. 😉 I think where the issue is is that a regular DVD player won’t play the Blu-Ray discs which is where the DVD/Blu-Ray combo packs come in handy. Hope that helps! 😉

  10. Excellent! The deal is still working tonight!!

Now, I just have to get me one of those fancy Blu-Ray players…hopefully you can find me a great deal on one before the holidays.
