As for a watch for your daughter, I’m a fan of the Timex kids watches you can get at Target for about $15. I’ve been using one for myself for about 5 or 6 years with little care about it’s condition. The stretch in the elastic band is all but gone but the watch is still going strong. The batteries are easy to change with a screwdriver from an eyeglasses kit. My only complaint is they don’t have replacement bands.
