Killer

Every now and then there’s a show on TV that I somehow never start watching, and then as everyone raves about how awesome it is, I’m left feeling like I can’t possibly start watching now because I’ve missed the beginning and everything is ruined.

(Or something like that.)

Recently the show I keep hearing about is Dexter, which is—I think—about a serial killer with a conscience. You know, a nice family show. Heh. Anyway, hence my running across what one might call a killer deal (see what I did there?) at Amazon: Get seasons 1 through 3 of Dexter for just $61 shipped.

I’m tempted, but then again, we’re only about halfway through West Wing and eventually I am going to die of old age before watching all of the television I want to….

  1. I’m so jealous that you have unwatched episodes of West Wing! One of my all time fav shows!

  2. We love Dexter!! I would advise you purchase this even if you have to wait until your checked in at the assisted living home to watch it.

  3. Dexter is a compelling series. Schadenfreude at its best. I’d say it’s a family show if your family consists of 30 to 50 year old children. Sometimes, though, I don’t think I’m old enough for it.

  4. Dexter is great, but dark. Sometimes VERY dark. I love it because it’s intelligent, but it can still be creepy. It’s a must see, but definitely not for kids.

  5. We just bought season 3 for Christmas and finished it this weekend…it is only 12 or so shows per season so it is a faster watch than West Wing (which I DVR on Bravo even though I have seen the entire thing two or three times)and a great dark comedy. I highly recommend this show.

  6. Hey, thanks you pointing out an Amazon Gold Box deal before Christmas, we’re experiencing Firefly for the first time. Fun!

  7. We love Firefly! What was Fox thinking when they cancelled it?

  8. I haven’t gotten into Dexter, but i know my brother loves it. My library has the seasons there to rent. I find that a great resource for renting movies because it’s free for 2 days with a dollar a day fine for being late, which even if I have to pay it’s still reasonable. Or I return it and take it out again another week. See what your library has and what their rental policy is before you spend $50+
