Dish it out

Okay, so, on the one hand this is a great deal, and on the other it completely makes me giggle.

I got an email from Overstock.com letting me know that dish sets are currently 10% off their already-discounted price, and that’s all well and good if you need new dishes, particularly because shipping at Overstock is always just $3 no matter how much you buy.

But the kicker, for me, is that they go on to label each and every set as “Delivered by 2/13,” complete with a little heart.

Because nothing says “Baby, you light my fire on Valentine’s Day and every day” like… a new set of dishes.

Proof positive: Overstock is run by men.

  1. If they were filled with chocolates now, that might cut it.

  2. I’ve been married longer than you– new dishes sound great for Valentines Day.

  3. my husband gave me a new set of dishes dor our anniversary (15 years!) and I loved that gift. We were eating off mismatched dishes so it was a great one.

  4. I’m bored to tears with our very-heavy-plain-white-still-in- great-condition-after-10-years dishes. Would love to trade them in but I’m too cheap to get rid of something that’s perfectly good. Maybe in another 10 years.

  5. I think many women would enjoy new dishes as a gift. But then again, I’m a man. At least Overstock didn’t offer an iron! THAT would be a big problem! LOL

  6. I just have to say, I smile everytime my mouse hovers over the links and you tell me how it makes me prettier. Thanks for finding a great way to deal with the disclosure issue!

  7. I saw the same heart logo yesterday on Overstock… on replacement door bells.

Of course, since my husband is a “we express our love so freely all the time, we don’t need to do Valentine’s Day” kind of guy, replacing the broken door bell for Valentine’s Day would be more than I normally get.

  8. I think my husband and Summer’s husband are brothers!

  9. Thank you Thank you – They have the dishes I want and On Sale!! Yeahhh!
