Friday, time flies

Did you know that it’s time to change the clocks this weekend? I mean, already? That can’t possibly be right. Except that it is. I foresee a lot of coffee in my future, to make up for that lost hour.

Regardless, time marches on. And Friday marches on, and despite its recent ever-shrinking-ness, I cling to starting my Friday with the Amazon Friday Sale, because I am still pining for the old days.

… but, wow, it’s just like Amazon is taunting me. Here, I found you one thing worth looking at: Today’s Gold Box Deal is a huge discount on Trio bars, one of my favorite snacks (gluten free! dairy free! high in protein!). The cases of 24 are working out to about $12 shipped if you buy via Subscribe & Save, so it’s a good time to restock if you’re out. This, however, is not technically part of the Friday Sale, which—having previously jumped the shark—I think has finally, emphatically, bitten the dust.

Moving on to other Friday goodies…. How about some shoes? That always cheers us up! Okay, there’s plenty of designer deals this weekend at 6pm.com, plus March Madness has arrived at Shoes.com—use coupon code 25SALE for an additional 25% off shoes and handbags already on sale, or code SPRING15 for 15% off regular-price items.

The excruciatingly adorable vintage airplanes crib bedding is back in the Target Daily Deals again today, as well as a few other goodies. Don’t forget coupon code URTYJLI8 for an extra 10% off, too.

Over at Graveyard Mall, they’ve got iPod and iPhone cases in the spotlight today, and if you order two or more, they’ll ship ’em for free. (Hint: A second case is cheaper than shipping. You’re welcome.)

And finally, if you’ve been waiting for a great Nuvi deal, this might be it: Buy.com has a refurbished Garmin Nuvi 1350 available today for $125 shipped (for reference: it’s around $175 at at Amazon with good reviews). I especially like how it says it offers “lane assistance.” I’m pretty sure they just mean you can get traffic/construction updates, but lane assistance makes it sound like it comes with a tiny leprechaun caddy, or something. Freaky.

And now, we are off on a mission to Trader Joe’s. I cannot tell you how this warms the cockles of my frugal yet good-food-lovin’ heart.

  1. Trader Joe’s is my new favorite place to shop. Produce and dairy that doesn’t take a hammer to my budget.

  2. Awesome deal on the iPod/iPhone cases! I ordered 4 of them for as much as one usually costs. Thanks! Now off to look at shoes….

  3. “Lane assistance” means it lets you know “Stay in the left lane…” when navigating ridiculous highways w/ multiple exits – downtown Atlanta comes to mind.

I don’t know what I would do without my lane assistance. 🙂

  4. Thanks for the ipod case deal. My husband broke his workout band and I got 2 for $9.98. One for his Easter basket and I will put one away for when he inevitably breaks it again!

  5. Lane assistance on a GPS is REALLY handy to have if you travel in large cities with highway layouts that strongly resemble plates of spaghetti. As mentioned above, it is great for things like: “you need to be in the left lane of the 2 lanes of right exit to make your next turn” or ‘exit coming up is a LEFT exit.. so go that way to exit instead of the normal way’ and ‘stay in such and such lane to bypass all the craziness in the next interchange’ Some even show all the lanes in the display to help in those endeavors. Not sure its for everyone, but darn nice to have, esp at the price.

  6. Just FYI, Trio bars are made in China.

  7. “Lane assistance.” If Lois is along on your road trip and Clark Kent is off saving the world, Lane assistance will help out.

  8. Trader Joe’s makes me happy in exactly the same way that Whole Foods makes me unhappy.

    Yay, TJ’s!

  9. Wow, that was a completely incomprehensible comment. Sorry!

I meant to say that TJ’s makes me happy at the *same intensity* that WF makes me unhappy.

    Sheesh!
