Load up your iPod

Whenever I see a new two-buck collection available for download at Amazon, I snap it up. I’m cheap and indiscriminate, that way. But really, how can you go wrong, paying $2 for 99 different pieces of music?

Right now I see 6 free samplers and 5 $1.99 samples available, and all of them are actual music. (Let’s face it, sometimes random samplers are filled with… something else.) I particularly love the classical music ones for loading up my son’s MP3 player… there’s no better way to sneakily get a kid loving classical music than to put it on his player and make it the only music he’s allowed to listen to when he’s doing his homework. Just sayin’.

  1. I hate being the grumpy gus all the time, but I have to whine, here. Amazon insists that you download their downloader for all free music, and their downloader only works with XP, Vista and 7 in the Windows stable. Those of us with older operating systems are just SOL, unless you want to pay for the free music.

Amazon’s not the only one, either. iTunes will only install on those same OS’s, and they don’t even give you an option.

    Harumph.

  2. Sadly they’re not available in Canada … hmmm … maybe my Dad needs music?
