Back-to-school cool at Macy’s

Need clothes for the upcoming school year? Macy’s has you (and your kids) covered: right now they’re offering two deals in the kids section which offer you high-end style at affordable prices.

First, spend $50+ on kids’ clothes and use coupon code KIDS to ship your order for free. Second, go ahead and spend twice that—if you spend $100 in the kids’ section, $20 will be deducted from your order total at checkout, automatically!

This is where I would normally launch into my standard diatribe about how kids today have it too easy, when I was their age I got my back-to-school clothes at Montgomery Ward and I like it, etc. But because I’m on vacation I’ll let you just imagine it, instead. You’re welcome.

  1. Can I rant about Macy’s a little bit? Last week my son needed a new bathing suit – and I wanted it right away so I decided to brave the brick-and-mortar. I went to the Macy’s near our house – they had coupons in the paper, it’s nearby, etc. Found out it’s a smaller Macy’s that doesn’t have kids’ clothes! So we drove 20 minutes to the large Macy’s at the very large mall, went upstairs to the children’s section, found a huge array of girl’s bathing suits, asked about boys – they said they don’t carry boy’s bathing suits!

Happy ending – JC Penney’s was right next door with a big clearance sale on a large selection of boy’s bathing suits – I stocked up the next size up for next year, too. Yay.

  2. Back in my day, our “back to school” clothes were hand-me-downs from a woman with 4 older children. And we LIKED it! You kids today . . . .
