Back to school tech

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, because everyone is having a sale to celebrate kids going back to school. It doesn’t matter if it’s something the kids need, even. Back to school clothes! Back to school crayons! Back to school windshield wipers! Whatever.

So there’s a ton of special back to school offers at CompUSA, right now, and I’m pretty sure most of these items aren’t on any elementary school supply lists. But what the heck; a sale’s a sale.

I poked around some and am currently drooling just a little on this refurbished Gateway netbook for just $200. That’s a sweet little computer if you’re looking for something ultra-portable but with all the functionality of a regular laptop (it even has a webcam).

Sure, it costs a little more than crayons and glue, but it’s more fun for the big kids. (And by “big kids” I of course mean “me.”)

  1. Our school waited last year to give me a list until the beginning of December, when our budget was bottomed out after all our holiday shopping. Needless to say, they got nothing from me. Maybe one day they’ll get organized enough to tell me while A) I have money; and B) the things are on sale!
