All hail Friday

This is one of those weeks where I don’t know whether to kiss Friday on the lips or tell it what it can do with itself for taking so long to get here. Just sayin’. (Some weeks are like that. Even in Australia.) (Bonus pretty points for everyone who gets the reference!)

Anyway. A little retail therapy is in order. Maybe start with Groupon, because they’re offering $50 to Nordstrom Rack (in-store) for just $25. If it’s not showing up in your city, check another one! It’s definitely available in Chicago, if you need help finding it.

The Target Daily Deals are ready to celebrate the latest Harry Potter movie today! Celebrate with the 7-disc Years 1-6 Blu-ray set for just $50! (For reference: that’s $20 cheaper than the current Amazon price.)

Meanwhile, in the Target Black Friday Center, they’ve got a Wii Fit Plus Biggest Loser bundle for $100. Just in case you’re already anticipating bitter regret and vows to eat better on January 1st.

The Amazon Friday Sale is loaded with coffee again (surprise!), plus if you want some real Vermont maple syrup, check out this Highland Sugarworks 32 oz. jug for just $12.75 when you buy via Subscribe & Save.

If you still don’t have boots (or if you need more boots, because, hello pretty shoes), check out today’s headline at 6pm.com—they’ve got boots under $50 and boots under $100 all sorted out for your browsing pleasure.

Scoop up the sales today at Lands’ End—not only will you enjoy free shipping on every order, but coupon code FROST with PIN 4397 takes $20 off your $75+ order or $50 off your $150+ order! Today’s the last day for this coupon, so get to shopping if you want it.

  1. I love that book! I love Anthony too. Fun!

  2. Awwww, here’s hoping you don’t have a terrible, horrible, no god, very bad day. You’re much too pretty for that!

  3. I think everyone in our house wore railroad train pajamas all week. So Friday is welcome. Saturday probably moreso.

  4. Hi Mir — Probably a dumb question, but as I’m searching Groupon’s website, I’m getting a lot of broken links rather than FAQ, Terms & Conditions, and How Groupon Works pages. The answer to this is probably there, but I can’t access it.

If I buy the Chicago Groupon, can I use it in at other Nordstroms? Is Groupon city specific in being able to redeem it only in that city?

  5. I’m seriously considering the maple syrup deal. I’ve never had real maple syrup. Does it really live up to all the hype? And how long does it stay good?

  6. Nancy, the real syrup is ah-mazing. It’s not as sweet maybe as the fake-o stuff, but it *tastes good*. You use a lot less of it per pancake somehow. Ours stays in the fridge as long as we’ve ever wanted it to. Go for it.

  7. After you have had the real thing, there is no going back. Such a difference! I live where it is produced….an awesome field trip. Did you know it takes 40 gals of sap to make 1 gal of syrup?

  8. Thanks, Holly and Janet, for the comments. I’m going to give it a try. We have pancakes or french toast for supper some nights when it’s too hot to cook a big meal here in Louisiana (or when I just don’t feel like cooking). 😉 After reading the reviews at Amazon, it looks like Grade B is the one to get. So, there will be pancakes for supper at my house Tuesday night. Don’t you just love Amazon Prime?!

  9. The Target deal is Sold out.

  10. It looks like the Groupon site totally crashed due to overwhelming demand — the message said something like that. Unfortunately, it crashed at the moment I hit “purchase”, so I’m not sure if the purchase went through or not. I had also clicked, “I’ll print this myself” for the gift option, rather than having it emailed. Guess I’ll have to wait and see what happens.

  11. with the lands end deal. It won’t let you use the free shipping and the FROST promo code 🙁

  12. nevermind, got it to work out! Thanks for the deal!!

  13. Nancy S — I’d rather have a teaspoon of real maple syrup than a cup of the fake stuff. Yes, it is that much better.

  14. Speaking of Australia, we’re moving there in January. Other than family and good Mexican food, the thing I’m going to miss most are the great deals I get from this site! No more free shipping for me 🙁 I definitely need to make the most of my Amazon Prime trial these next 6 weeks, so find lots of goodies for me, pretty Mir!
