I’ve run a couple of contests here for gift certificates to NOVICA, because I want one of everything they sell. Not only are they part of the National Geographic family and everything they sell is Fair Trade, they offer gorgeous jewelry, clothing, and housewares you can’t find anywhere else. Love them! And I’m always sad when I only have one prize and we have hundreds of entries.

But this is easing my pain a little: Today there’s a NOVICA Groupon, available through Los Angeles but available to everyone (every course). Spend $30 and get a $60 certificate, and then you, too, can spend an endless amount of time trying to decide what to buy.

(For whatever it’s worth, the last time I shopped there, I bought martini glasses. I have never had or served a martini here at home. It’s just… they were so pretty! They look great in my china cabinet. Maybe I’ll pour some milk in them for the kids this morning….)

  1. Serve dessert in the martini glasses. So fancy and sophisticated! We got two sets of martini glasses for wedding presents 11 years ago and have yet to use them.

  2. Too funny!

I also have martini glasses (Waterford Crystal at that) that remain unused and sit beside the beautiful marble cheese tray that hasn’t been touched since we got it five years ago. Not sure what it says about our wedding guests that we got both those items and a toilet seat.

Mary Fran – Great idea about serving dessert! I might have to do that for V-day.

  3. I’ve been looking for maternity clothes that don’t make me feel awful or cost a fortune. Methinks a beautiful tunic or two would fit the bill. Thanks for the deal!

  4. I was one of those super lucky winners of the Novica gift certificates, and it took me MONTHS to decide how to use it. I finally got a smoky purple leather bag from India. It is gorgeous. Smooth as butter, perfect craftsmanship. I get compliments on it everyday. And it felt so incredibly good ordering it from a socially responsible organization. It even came with a personal note from the craftsman, thanking me for supporting his art. Awesome. Get thee to Novica and buy, people!
