In case you need to cut some soda cans

If you are a child of the 70s, like me, chances are you can’t see a Ginsu knife without remembering the commercial where the announcer declares with utter wonderment that these knives can cut right through a soda can, and then slice a tomato with ease. (Okay, I had to look it up. Here you go. You are welcome.) I’ve never actually owned Ginsus, but I did love that commercial. Heh.

Today’s Target Daily Deals feature a really cool 8-piece Ginsu set with a bamboo block for just $60 shipped (compare to $70 at Amazon, where it has great reviews). You can also use coupon code I77QSLJ2 to save another $5, making it just $55 shipped.

I don’t recommend you really use them to cut through cans, but hey, that’s your call.

  1. I thought you meant like in Twister. Remember that scene where they cut a bunch of soda cans for Dorothy to take up into the tornado?

  2. For some reason, I first thought of the old kind of pull-tabs, that bored beer-drinking teens would make chains out of. Even though there is no need to cut the can to get those.
