Creepy crawlies in the name of education

I’m loving this Groupon deal for Insect Lore today—$10 will get you a complete butterfly habitat and caterpillars (a 50% savings). Or just turn your $10 into $20 to be spent however you like on the Insect Lore site; they’ve got plenty of bug-themed items that aren’t actually, you know, bugs… just in case you’re squeamish.

It’s educational, so it’s not gross. At least, that’s what I’m telling myself.

  1. Awesome find! We do the caterpillars into butterflies thing every spring at my preschool. Slow process, but not messy at all. And fun to see them change day to day (except in the cocoon – pretty boring then until they start shaking to break free).

  2. Ok, the madagascar hissing cockroach kit? That *IS* gross. I’m going to have nightmares from that picture.

  3. We live 20 minutes from the ‘factory’ and have used a lot of there projects,
very very cool, everything top notch quality and so much fun with kiddos.
The ladybugs are super fun too!
