The year we gave my son a Snap Circuits set was the only time I successfully picked a non-Lego, non-Bakugan, non-Nintendo gift for him that he loved. It’s still something he pulls out and plays with from time to time, and it’s a great pick for any child who loves building things and also enjoys science. It’s kind of like Lego meets the laboratory, with some electricity thrown in.
Anyway, right now (I’m sure it’ll go up as soon as I post this…) Amazon has the Snap Circuits PRO SC-500 set available for $45.94; that’s about $15 cheaper than it’s available anywhere else, and Amazon’s lowest price on this set ever. This set has the pieces and directions for 500 different experiments.
If you want to spend less, they also have the Snap Circuits Green – Alternative Energy Kit currently available for $29.99—again, that’s Amazon’s lowest price ever on that set, and about $15 less than what it costs elsewhere. The bigger set is better “bang for the buck” as this one only does 125 projects, but it’s another option.

Snagged it Mir. Thanks!,
Got it too! Thanks! My husband, however, is threatening to take my iPad if I don’t stop buying “one more thing” for the kids! MUST.STOP.BUYING! 😉
Still there at that price. Thanks, Mir!
I gave the Snap Circuit Set to my son for his seventh birthday, and it is STILL a huge hit. And last night, during parent-teacher conferences, we used it in our science fair tutorial room. The kids were standing in line for a chance to play with it, and numerous moms asked me where I got it and jotted down the information. I hope some of them see this deal!
very cool! gonna put this in the summer activity bin for when those days get long and we need a new activity, thanks pretty lady!
off topic but Target is selling the Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle for $99. This deal is in-store only.
THANK YOU!! We had been looking for this set, and I was prepared to pay a lot more, except I couldn’t find it! You ROCK!!
Thanks so much for sharing that this was a good fit for your son. My son reminds me of him in lots of ways, and knowing that toys work well for you all are a good indicator that they’ll work in my house as well. I’m excited to see how he does!
