I know a camera is good when my husband starts salivating a little bit while looking at it. Right now Amazon has the Olympus XZ-1 for just $199 shipped, which is nearly $100 less than I’m seeing it elsewhere.

For those wanting the Cliff Notes version, my husband said, “That is a really nice lens; it’ll do well in low-light situations, which is where most pocket cameras fall short.” I deal with my picture needs by making my husband do all the photography, but he is not for sale, so you might want to check out this camera.
Well. It happened that I have been dithering over a very similar (but not quite as good) camera since last Christmas, when my brother’s low-light gift-opening photos turned out great and mine ranged from mediocre to crummy. The one I was considering is close to twice the price of this one, AND this one is better. So I bought it, and thank you for the tip.
