Alert reader Dawn was kind enough to point out that right now, the infamous grab bags at Burt’s Bees are marked down to just $15 each (they are each $50 worth of products) in the Outlet. Fantastic, right? Well… yes and no. The good news is the price. The bad news is that the site is moving like molasses right now. Does the pursuit of the deal outweigh the aggravation of waiting and waiting and maybe having it crash when you try to check out…? That’s up to you.

I’ve been *patiently* waiting for over an hour. Forgot to change the shipping option (grrr) so have to pay an extra $11 for Fed Ex 2 day now – why do they make that the default?? Oh well, got a deal anyway I think.
Molasses moves much, much faster than the Burt’s Bees site. Have you ever heard of the great Molasses disaster in Boston? Molasses, you will learn, can move very, very fast. I would say the Burt’s Bees site is moving glacially.

I think you slashdotted Burt’s Bees. I watched the site attempt to load for 5 minutes or so while I read your other blog, then I gave up. 🙂
Definitely running like molasses. I’ve gotten to the point where I can click add to cart twice, but then ages later it gives me an error. 🙁

Still trying randomly, no luck.
Painful. Took over a half hour to order 3 items; but finally got a confirmation. Stuff that I had in an old shopping cart showed up on this order; another 5 minutes to get rid of them, then another two minutes for something out of stock….. grrr. But, all things considered, worth the effort!
I was able to get a couple, without too much trouble. I’m hoping it will be enough of a selection to do mother’s day and end of the year teachers gifts…
