Calling all cat people

I am not a cat person. I am extremely allergic to cats. And I know nothing about kitty litter, so forgive me if this is not as good of a deal as it seems to be. (Also: Hey Amazon, why are you offering me kitty litter in my “you might also like” section??)

Right now they have this 27-pound pail of 24/7 Performance Tidy Cats Clumping Litter available for just $9.99 shipped (if you have Prime). I’m seeing an average price on this of around $26, so that seems like a pretty good deal.

Of course, as a dog person, I do feel the need to point out that a better deal is an animal that doesn’t poop in a box inside, but whatever. Details!

  1. I always buy 40 lb bags of good clumping litter from Amazon. Free shipping and my poor ups man has to shlep it to my door. It is such a win for me. I am effusive in my thanks to him plus I am sure to gift him at the holidays.
Prime + heavy things = win

    • How much Gretchen and what brand?

      • I get
Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter
        40lb at $17

        2 cats very happy here.

        • Exactly the cat litter that I also order from Amazon! But they ship it to my apartment management office, so I have to get help lugging it to my door every time :S

  2. Great deal! Thanks!!

  3. No cats here, but I just bought some – isn’t that the way it goes? – to fill draft blockers to place at the bottom or a door or two. Also have carried a bucket in the truck in the winter for weight/traction if I need it on ice/packed snow. Mostly when I was still working – now I just stay home when it’s icy, duh.

  4. But on the plus side, as a cat person I don’t have to walk a dog during the bad winter weather, I can just let them poop in the box in the bathroom. 🙂

This is a good deal. I swear, next time I get a cat, I’m going to check out some of those lightweight litters they have now. I’m getting too old to be hauling heavy litter around (even heavier when it’s used…LOL).

    • Even better when the cat is young and spry enough to use his cat door to go outside (sadly, no longer)! And no “land mines” to worry about. 🙂

    • Our cat doesn’t seem to like the lightweight stuff very much…not that he wouldn’t use it, but he can’t dig around much, and it seems to come out of the box with him. We settled on a 50/50 mixture of the lightweight and the old stuff, and we’re all pretty happy with it.

After checking this out, I am going to start ordering litter from Amazon from now on! Why didn’t that occur to me before?
