All aboard the LEGO train

When my son was little, it was all trains, all the time. He moved on from Thomas the Tank Engine to LEGO and stayed there for a loooong time, and despite the many late-night injuries I sustained from stepping on plastic bricks, I kind of miss those days.

Back then I usually stalked one super-expensive LEGO set all year to make sure he had one really special holiday gift, and because most big LEGO sets never get down to more than about 30% off it was always a bit of a challenge. I guess I should be pleased that now he just wants money, right?

Anyway! Let’s say you have a LEGO-loving, train-loving kid (or adult; no judgment!) in your life. You might want to hop on over to Target right now for this LEGO City Cargo Train set, currently 30% off and down to $140. You can get free shipping or free store pickup, and if you have a REDcard you’ll get another 5% off, too. Is that still expensive? Of course it is, but I doubt it’ll be any cheaper than this, so if it’s on someone’s list, this may be as good as it gets. (For reference: It’s still $188 at Amazon.)
