Anyone who knows me knows that my dog is spoiled beyond all reason. She probably eats better than my kids. (Hey, it’s not my fault. One, just look at that face, and two, she’s not nearly as picky as the children.) So when the nice folks from DOGSWELL contacted me, they knew exactly what to say—instead of pitching me, the adorable PR rep 1) addressed the email to Licorice, 2) offered to “do her up right” with some DOGSWELL goodies, and 3) complimented my shoes. We are now BFFs.
The catch with Licorice, of course, is that I only feed her premium grain-free food, because she’s a delicate flower who has skin problems when she eats wheat (just like her mom… which is a little spooky). They said no problem at all, because their newest line of food, Nutrisca, is grain-free! And by the way, would I also like to give some away?
For this contest, three lucky Want Not readers are each going to receive a 4-pound bag of the latest DOGSWELL Nutrisca kibble flavor, salmon and chickpea. As a reminder, I really don’t fool around when it comes to what I feed my dog, so before agreeing to do this I went and looked up Nutrisca on my favorite dog food analysis site, but was unable to find any info (maybe it’s too new?), but after some hunting around I found this analysis, which makes me feel confident that this truly is a premium food for your beloved pal. In other words, yes, I am going to feed it to my own precious baby.
Want to win some of this cool kibble for your canine friend? First go review the contest rules and regulations, then come on back here and leave a comment on this post by 8:00 a.m. Eastern time (that’s 5:00 a.m. Pacific) on Thursday, June 16th, 2011 for a chance to win. Winners to be determined by random number generation and whether or not you retrieve your comment and bring it back to me when I yell “Fetch!” (Not really. But the mental image is amusing me.)
Ready? Go!
Fetched and placed at your feet with NO drool. yourwelcomeverymuch.
This is so perfect, because less than five minutes ago I returned home from buying nearly thirty dollars worth of natural treats for our puppy who is currently suffering from a few complications after her spaying. Evidence: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fluidpudding/5823865695 Hooray for DOGSWELL!
Have you found it at a store?
I’m not too awfully picky about what I feed my dog (I figure, he happily eats dead animals, so Kibbles n Bits can’t be THAT big an insult to his taste buds, and he has no health issues that require special ingredients), but I certainly won’t pass up an opportunity for free dog food!
I know a 4# bag won’t last my 3 big kids very long–but I’ve been wanting to try this brand! Unfortunately, with a Newfoundland in the house, this comment cannot be considered drool free 😉

Our Lab, Cecelia, is already drooling.
Dog one is on special Rx food, dog two eats anything and everything and dog three has horrible ear problems probably related to allergies. I need to suck it up and put#3 on grain free kibble but haven’t spent the time researching yet. I’d love to try this and see if it helps.

We have an English bulldog that is allergic to her own shadow. After spending an obscene amount of money on allergy testing we found that one of the things that gives her hives and cause her skin irritations is indeed Wheat. Wheat along with several types of grass, cotton, lamb, oak, spruce, pine, smoke, and many, many other things including the cat!
I would love to try this!
Thank you.
