They say you should write what you know, and as I’ve been writing precious little while mired in the ongoing medical saga that has become my kid’s life these days, I’m heeding that particular call. If you don’t need a cool pill organizer, feel free to skip this post.
If you do need a cool pill organizer, pull up a chair! I have desperately been trying to keep medication organized ’round here, lately, and after several “Oh I’ll just buy these cheap cases off of eBay” disasters, bit the bullet and read some reviews, then bought this Ezy Dose 7 Day AM/PM Travel Pill Container.
Key features:
* The lids are easy to open, but don’t pop open (unlike every other pill case I’ve purchased, which opens when dropped on the floor, or packed in a suitcase, or looked at sideways). (Related: the only thing more fun than spending half an hour every weekend loading up a pill case is later spending half an hour scrambling around on the floor to find said pills while also trying to keep the dog from eating them.)
* AM and PM are different colors, which you wouldn’t think was a big deal, until you had a not-terribly-observant kid taking a bazillion meds, that is.
* This is now the smallest case we own, but the pill compartments themselves are the largest. Uh, it’s not rocket science, it’s a pill container. I’m confused as to why this was hard for the cheapo manufacturers to figure out.
* And my favorite feature ever: Although it’s a week-long case, each individual day’s AM/PM pair can be popped out of the base. Going on an overnight, or a weekend trip? Pop out the days you need, instead of taking the whole big case, or putting pills in a baggie. Genius.
Bottom line: I sincerely hope you have absolutely no need of a high-tech pill organizer. But if you do, this one is well worth the $7 price tag.

This is the one we’ve been using for a couple of years now. They hold up really well over time. Definitely worth the price!
I have actually been looking for something just like this! Mainly for my vitamins and supplements because I’m sick of opening three different bottles twice a day. Thanks for the recommendation. Mine is on the way.

Yup. We’ve got one. Sadly, it doesn’t keep him from getting distracted within 2 seconds and forgetting to actually take the meds.
Thank you. I don’t need an am/pm one, just am and am mostly happy with ours (from Rite Aid). But I can sympathize with the need for one and the stress related to it.

Have used this for a few years and I enthusiastically second the recommendation.
Been using this one for a couple of years now as I have a dog who is on 4 different meds twice a day, it works great and has held up well!
I love this case too, specifically for the take only the days you need off of the base feature. I have 5 of them, and spend a few hours in the beginning of the month filling them for the entire month. It really only works if your meds are stable because fishing 28 days of a changed dosage pill out from amongst the others is a huge pain, but as long as things stay the same, it’s great!
I need more options than AM/PM (take meds 5x/day, actually). I have a couple sets that have 4 sections per day, and each day comes out so you can take it with you. However, the lids do pop open a bit too easily. So if you happen upon one that’s sturdier, but has more options than AM/PM, please share!
