Thanks, Mir! I have a child entering “uniforms” this year – though I feel forced to put that in quotes. Her school has one of those required school shirt but skorts/skirts/pants can be this style but not that, in this color, but not that….with belts unless there are no loops… At least I saved some money while being irrationally annoyed.
Back in my (Catholic schoolgirl) day we had a REAL uniform. One, plain, ugly option that we all got stuck wearing, socks included. We even had to go to a special uniform shop in the middle of nowhere to get (unless you bought from the used supply at school, which was, in the irony that is youth, actually cooler than the stiff “new” ones). As a student I HATED it. As a parent I think that it was simple, and therefore the way to go.
