If you’re having the kind of rain we’ve been having, you’re looking for some ways to keep the kids busy indoors quite a bit. Whether you have a budding Picasso or just a kid who likes to color, an “official” art set is always a big hit.
This 80-piece Deluxe Art Set at Amazon is currently just $14 (and yesterday it was still over $20), and in addition to all of the goodies inside, it comes in a sturdy wooden case. This is way cooler than a new package of colored pencils.
The set is recommended for ages 6+, and from the reviews it looks like it’s beginner items, so maybe good for elementary through middle school, but probably not sufficient for artists older than that. Though for the price, I’m not sure it matters.
We have this exact set and I agree it is worth the price. The colored pencils are a nice selection of colors but not the highest quality. The paint is so so (just hard watercolors) But, the oil pastels make up for any of that. They are very nice quality and blend and smooth very well. Plus they seem to last forever. We’ve had this kit for years and only a few pencils are down to an inch or so long.
