I’ll admit, I haven’t been that impressed, just yet, with this year’s Countdown to Black Friday Lightning Deals. Granted, they don’t tend to get really exciting until later in the month, but still.
That said, today’s main Amazon Gold Box Deal is deep discounts on a plethora of family board games, and we always add a new game (or two or three…) to our collection over the holidays. It turns out that it can be difficult to make teenagers stick around to play Scrabble with you, but if you’re playing a game that’s likely to make everyone laugh, it’s a different story. So yeah, I have some ulterior motivation, but I’m okay with that. At these prices, I’m very okay with that, in fact.
Yes! Dixit is awesome, and I just bought Dixit Journey. It’s like apples to apples, but with gorgeous artwork. Highly recommended.
I also bought Takenoko, an adorable game about gardening bamboo for pandas, beautiful and deceptively strategic.
AND Indigo, by one of my favorite game designers, which I haven’t tried but the reviews sounds great.
