I don’t know what it is about 6pm.com that always seems to put me right into the Wayback Machine, but it gets me every time. Because I just clicked over there and what do I think of? Do I have an association when it comes to sale Dekline, Skechers, or slashed prices on designer eyewear? No, of course not.
All I see is 70% off Vans, and immediately I am transported back to middle school, when only the cool boys wore Vans, and I sat in the corner, nervously righting the collar of my (one and only) Izod polo shirt, hoping against hope that they would notice me.
Nerdery: You never outgrow it. (Fortunately, Vans really grew up—check out the adorable styles they have now in addition to the standards from “back in the day.” Don’t like ’em? Well, you can just get off my lawn, whippersnapper!)
I’m so grateful that you keep mentioning 6pm deals, because I seem to have some sort of BRAIN PROBLEM and can’t remember to check them every day, even though I am IN THE MARKET FOR NEW SHOES.
I have kept wearing Vans since high school. Back in the day, you could custom order them, and I made sure mine were different from EVERYONE’s. High school being all about non-conformity, you know. *cough* I love that Bella wears them now. So cute.
