Time for summer shoes stock-up

As you gear up for warmer weather, chances are you’ve discovered that your kids rudely went and grew a whole bunch since last year. Kids are jerks like that. Or maybe you’ve just looked in your own closet and decided you hate everything you own. (We grown-ups are sometimes jerks like that.) Either way, it’s the perfect time to go get some new kicks from Payless—right now they’re doing their BOGO special (buy one pair, get one half off), plus you can use coupon code 89737 for another 20% off, on top of that.

Shipping is free to your local Payless store, or $5.95 otherwise. (Alternatively, if you spend $40+ there’s a code on the site for free shipping on $40+, but you can’t stack codes, and if you have $40+ you’ll save more with the 20% than the shipping will cost.)

You know, I used to only use Payless for shoes-for-the-fast-growing-kids, but lately they’ve had some cute options for adults, too. That’s handy when taking advantage of those BOGO deals.

C’mon, weekend savings

Is today Friday? It seems like it should be Friday. These “weekend sales” starting today are throwing me off.

No matter; how about a 20% off sale at Soft Clothing? Just use code flashweekend at checkout.

I’m still waiting (hoping) for them to extend into larger sizes, but maybe you have smaller kids and can take advantage of the deal.

Black Friday’s back, baby

You say April, I say Black Friday. Black Friday at Home Depot, that is—and yes, it’s happening right now, in April. I don’t know why. Let’s just go with it.

There’s so many deals it may take a bit of wading around, but I see a few really good deals on patio furniture and other big-ticket items, so that’s worth checking out if this is the year you were planning to get a new shed or play structure or dining set. There’s plenty of discounts on smaller things, too. Definitely worth the browse. Free shipping on lots of items, and they always offer free ship-to-store for pickup, too.

It says the deals are good for a week or while supplies last. I’d check it out early, because some of those discounts are going to sell out.

Live long and prosper (and save)

It’s a very Star Trek Amazon Gold Box today—get all 6 original movies at an all-time-low price. Choose the set on Blu-ray for $35 or get the DVDs for $22.50. Either way, it’s all the Shatner and Nimoy that can be crammed into a single box set, and a perfect gift for yourself or your favorite nerd.

You know, Father’s Day is coming up. Just sayin’.

Suit up

There’s a few fantastic specials running right now at Macy’s, but in particular, take a look at the little rotating “2-Day Specials” listed on the righthand side of their splash screen. In there you’ll see that they have select men’s Kenneth Cole suits for just $99.99! This is a great deal for the guys.

Get your total before taxes to $100 and you can use coupon code TXTCLB for another 15% off, too. I think that means you get to pick up something pretty for yourself while you’re grabbing that new suit for him. How convenient!

Float this desk on by

I sort of love this… did you know you can get a “floating desk?” It just means it’s a unit that attaches to the wall and has no legs. Kind of nifty.

Right now Best Buy has this white Prepac floating desk available for just $116 with free shipping, which isn’t bad at all for a desk/hutch combo. For comparison and reviews, check out the same desk at Amazon, where it’ll run you about $163 shipped (but does have great reviews).

Now if only it came with a floating, legless chair. You know, to match.

To Grandma’s, and beyond

Most of the time I am positively delighted that my children are now large enough to do things like go places by themselves and prepare meals. But then some days I see things like this adorable space shuttle rolling suitcase and I wish my teenagers were still small and easily impressed. Because come on—it’s the space shuttle! As a suitcase! How awesome is that?

At its current Prime and Super Saver Shipping-eligible price of $19, it’s the lowest Amazon has ever offered it at. And to put a big grin on the face of a space-loving kid for under $20, I think it’s pretty awesome.

World Autism Day = app discounts

Today is apparently World Autism Day—something I can’t even say with a straight face, because plenty of us don’t get to just pick one day (cracking myself up, imagining this as a sort of “Okay, today you get to be autistic” kind of thing), but whatever. Today’s the day.

iAutism has compiled a list of free or reduced-price apps that might interest folks.

I see some games on there, too, so worth checking out even if autism isn’t part of your life.

Finish the dishes with another deal

So yesterday we were talking about this new annoying thing with Subscribe & Save where you only save extra if you have 5 shipments in a month. Total drag, granted, but I still find myself looking for ways to pad my monthly shipment with something I need anyway to make sure I get the best deal on everything. Ahem.

So as I’m putting together my orders, I figure dishwashing detergent is always a good thing to pick up—it’s not like I’m going to run out of dishes to wash—and so I started looking for a good deal on Finish tabs, because they’re my current favorite. I ended up adding a subscription to this 85-pack of Finish Powerball tabs because the current price of $13.87 is the lowest it’s ever been. And then when I end up with 20% off my S&S orders (once I reach 5 items), it’ll end up being about $.13/tab. Works for me.

[Edited to add: Thanks to Whitney for pointing out that they’ve now added a clippable coupon for $2.15, too! I canceled my original order—which hadn’t yet shipped—and reordered using the coupon. Even better!]

Half off everything for spring

Celebrate the first day of April over at LOFT today and you can take an additional 50% off everything—even sale items—with coupon code CYBERSPRING. That’ll give you free shipping on your order, too. It’s only good today, though, so shop now or forever… umm… wait until the next sale. (Though, to be fair, I can’t remember the last time they offered free shipping on any order.)

Why didn’t I see this earlier? No matter, I can go shop now….
