Nearly 1,000 pieces of spooky
This one is for the serious LEGO collectors, or for those of us who tend to get “one big set” come holiday-time for our brick-fiends.
Amazon currently has the LEGO Monster Fighters Vampyre Castle 9468 available for just $80.75 shipped—a good $12 cheaper than I’ve ever seen it. This set is 949 pieces of haunted fun, and while I, personally, won’t spend that much on LEGO unless my kiddo has expressed that this is the One True Set, maybe it’s the one you’ve been seeking.
Or maybe you’re willing to pay that to get the minifigs with glow-in-the-dark faces. That’s pretty cool.
Feelin’ Lucky?
If you love Lucky Brand the way I do (which is to say: everything about it, except the full MSRP), then hop on over there today to score some bargains—everything on the site is automatically an extra 20% off, plus all orders ship for free. The additional savings work even on already marked down sale prices, so there are plenty of awesome deals to be had.
Make it even better: use coupon code WELCOMELB to save an additional 10% off anything you buy even after the automatic 20% discount.
I don’t know about you, but suddenly I’m feeling pretty lucky!
A high-end point-and-shoot for a lower price
I know a camera is good when my husband starts salivating a little bit while looking at it. Right now Amazon has the Olympus XZ-1 for just $199 shipped, which is nearly $100 less than I’m seeing it elsewhere.
For the technically-inclined, check out the specs and reviews at CNET for the whole scoop. For those wanting the Cliff Notes version, my husband said, “That is a really nice lens; it’ll do well in low-light situations, which is where most pocket cameras fall short.” I deal with my picture needs by making my husband do all the photography, but he is not for sale, so you might want to check out this camera.
Free shipping and big deals at Bon-Ton
It’s a perfect day to shop for Halloween or anything over at Bon-Ton—every single order ships for free, automatically. In addition, it’s Friends & Family time, so you can use coupon code FFCTECM2012 for an extra 25% off nearly everything. And that’s on top of the various sales and deals, which already include up to 50% off costumes.
I, of course, will be dressing up as The Legend Of Zombie Fingers, but just in case you want something a little more mainstream and less involving of, uh, busting your hand… this sale might be a better route.
Get 20% off your tunes
Whether you’re starting to buy gifts or just want up your balance on your own iTunes account, Best Buy has you covered: right now they’re offering a $50 iTunes gift card on their site for just $40 out-of-pocket. Shipping should be free, or you can pick it up at the store.
That’s an extra $10 in your pocket to spend on… well, whatever you like. More tunes. Dessert. Shoes. It doesn’t matter! What matters is that you’re way too smart (and pretty) to pay full price.
Trying to make it up to you
Oh, hey. I’m not dead, I just sort of wish I was. Haha! Little humor, there. Turns out my injury and subsequent surgery kinda laid me out for a bit, and typing is still slow and painful. My husband is setting me up with some dictation software, so hopefully that will help get this show back on the road.
In the meantime—a few deals to snag today:
It’s Friends and Family time at Children’s Place, so today you can use coupon code FRIEND30EM to take 30% off your entire order. That’s on top of all the current markdowns, plus shipping is free when you spend $75+ (it’s just $5, otherwise).
The whole Gap family of stores is offering discounts this weekend—use code ONSAVE20 for 20% off at Old Navy, code GAPGIFT for 20% off at Gap, code BRCREATE for 25% off at Banana Republic, or code EXTRA20 for an additional 20% off sale items at Athleta. (Granted, most of those are pretty standard offers, but I do love the extra savings at Athleta; that one only happens a couple of times each year.)
Need a sparkly little dress for homecoming? Today’s Target Daily Deals feature six darling styles (each available in four different colors), each down to just $39 with free shipping. On top of that, if you spend $75+ they’ll knock off another 20%, so be a hero—buy her two dresses and reap the savings.
One of my very favorite stores, ThinkGeek, just added a ton of items to the Sale section. Time to start picking up stocking stuffers!
And speaking of stocking stuffers… I bought a bunch of these “strawberry” bags one year. They’re adorable and perfect to toss in your purse; then when you run into the store for “just one thing” you still have a bag. (These will take a while to ship, but it’s only October.)
Hopefully I’ll be up and running again soon. Thanks for your patience!
It’s not too late for costumes
Still working out what your kids (or you; I don’t judge) will be for Halloween this year? In general the stores are picked over and the prices are still insane. But don’t worry—Tanga to the rescue! They’ve got a slew of discounted costumes for the whole family, each one shipping in time for Halloween for just $3 each.
I’ll be dressing up as the klutz who broke her hand on an apple, but figured the Tanga offerings might be good for some of you.
Perfect for one-handed face cleansing!
Greetings from post-op central, where I now have a steel plate and eight screws in my left hand. Fortunately, I’m right-handed. Unfortunately, I can’t shower yet and it’s harder than you think to wash up with just one hand. I’d recently started a whole new face-washing regime that I can’t do now, so I went looking for something easier in the meantime.
Lo and behold, Amazon has these 66-count Olay 2-in-1 Combination/Oily Daily Facial Cloths for just $3.65 shipped when you buy via Subscribe & Save and clip the $2 coupon on the page. That’s a pretty smoking price whether you have a busted hand or not.
Soooo… did I mention…
… that I broke my hand? Because apparently I did.
Whoops!
I’m having surgery tomorrow and hope you’ll bear with me for a few days until I can get back to work (with my good hand).
[I’m filing this under “Everyday Wisdom,” as in, “Don’t break your hand, it hurts.” You’re welcome.]
Bundle up!
If, by some miracle, you still need a winter coat, today’s the day to scoop one up over at 6pm.com—they’ve got a huge selection of “under $100” options, some over 75% off!
I dont need a coat, but I aw a couple of adorable capes… and a cape is totally different, right? Right,
