Gimme that Groupon
It’s been a while since we had a cool Groupon deal, but thankfully, my kids’ favorite is back—right now you can snag a Redbox Groupon and rent movies for a ridiculously low price.
Pay $2 for 4 rentals or just $4 for 10 rentals!
I don’t know about where you live, but here we have a Redbox sitting in the exit of our local supermarket. Easy-peasy, and really a no-brainer at a dollar apiece. On a deal like this, it becomes… well, what’s even easier than a no-brainer? Zombie-brainer? Earthworm-brainer? Let me finish this coffee and I’ll get back to you with an appropriate metaphor.
Stock up time at Bath & Body Works
Today (Wednesday, August 15th) only, shop at Bath & Body Works and you can use coupon code SWEETPEAGIFT at checkout to get a free full-size Sweet Pea Body lotion, matching tote, and $1 shipping on your entire $25+ order.
Of course there’s no shortage of promotions to choose from while you shop—buy 3, get 3 free on Signature Collection items, 4 for $20 or 6 for $24 on all Wallflowers, or 4 for $15 or 6 for $20 anti-bacterial soaps.
That free tote would be perfect to deliver a teacher gift in the spring, by the way. Just sayin’.
Who knew silverware was seasonal?
It always cracks me up when there’s an end-of-season sale on something that doesn’t really have a season. End-of-summer sale on clothing? That makes sense. End-of-summer sale on silverware? What, is it time to switch over to your autumn spoons? I do not understand.
Nevertheless, I give Oneida a pass on this because 1) they carry more than silverware and 2) the prices in this sale are really, really good. To make it even better, you can use coupon code RETME11 for an additional 11% off clearance items, or if you’re buying baby stuff (they have some beautiful silver banks and other perfect baby shower items) use code BABY for an additional 20% off.
Shipping is a flat $2.99/order, or free if you’re spending $99+. Which means you totally can have different silverware for each season, if you want.
For those serious about Star Wars LEGO
I consider myself lucky that my son never developed a Star Wars obsession—LEGO sets are plenty expensive as it is, but the Star Wars ones definitely take the cake. That said, they are pretty cool and detailed and even an otherwise rational parent can find herself thinking, “Well, a few hundred dollars for plastic bricks might make sense….” (Um, just hypothetically. Ahem.)
Anyhoo, this is a preface to pointing out that the LEGO Star Wars 9500 Sith Fury-class Interceptor just dropped to an all-time-low price of $70.75 on Amazon. That still feels like an insane amount of money for LEGO, yes, but it’s a 748-piece set, and over at Toys ‘R’ Us the same set costs $110 (though with a current LEGO special they’re running you could get it for $95).
Is this a set to grab just for the heck of it? Even at the discounted price, probably not. But if you have a Star Wars LEGO freak in the house, is it too early to start shopping for the holidays or a distant birthday…? I say no.
Wellness for less(ness)
(Okay, lessness isn’t a word. But I wish it was.)
It’s time once again for the Puritan’s Pride big sale, and that means prices are slashed on just about everything available in their house brand, plus when you buy 1, you get 2 free. (Not a typo! You really get three for the price of one, or six for the price of two.)
On top of that, use coupon code TE8SZ3B for an additional 20% off. Any cheaper, and they’d be paying you to take this stuff.
Shipping is a flat $4.95 on every order, which is hard to argue when you’re paying something like 80-90% off retail.
Stack the savings at the Creek
It’s been a while since I got a Coldwater Creek fix, and today does not disappoint. If you’re shopping the full-price items (I don’t know why you would do that, but just in case), they’re currently running a buy 1, get 1 half off promotion—savings will appear automatically in your shopping bag. But if you’re shopping the Outlet—much more our style—today all tops, sweaters, and pants are automatically an extra 60% off, with everything else an extra 30% off. And if you prefer to wait until tomorrow, the 60% savings will shift to skirts, dresses, accessories, and home goods.
Of course, we know better than to shop there without a coupon, right? On top of whichever savings you grab from the automatic deductions, you can also use coupon code NFA6365 for $25 off your $50+ order, or code WFP4972 for $20 off your $75+ order plus free shipping.
I do feel like their prices have been going up in general, but between the sales and the coupon, there’s still plenty of good deals to be had.
Pantene savings at Amazon
If you like Pantene products—and I often do, in spite of the fact that I find their commercials some of the most annoying ones out there—and if you’re eligible for Amazon coupons, check out this $3 off Pantene coupon currently available.
There’s five pages of eligible items, and a lot of them are already on sale, so there’s plenty of deals to be had.
Now picture me flipping my hair around and telling you that you’re worth it. (Ignore the fact that my hair is too short to flip at the moment and “you’re worth it” is the tag line for a different brand.)
Swap your beverages instead of dieting
I don’t know, it sounds kind of gimmicky to me… but the Eat This, Not That! folks have another book out, and this one’s called Drink This, Not That!. Supposedly following their directives for lower-calorie beverages can save you up to 30 pounds a year. (I think that should come with a disclaimer that those results only work for people who were previously hooked up to a constant IV drip of frappacinos.)
Anyway, right now you can pick up said book at Amazon for just $1.73, and for less than the cost of a cup of coffee at my favorite drive-through, maybe it’s worth checking out. (Prime and Super Saver Shipping eligible, of course.)
Then again, save for my two cups of coffee each day, I mostly drink water, so what do I know?
Got earbuds?
I won’t deny that the layout over at Graveyardmall tends to be kind of confusing, and most of the time the shipping there negates any sort of decent deal they might be offering. But! Today they’re offering $1.99 flat shipping on anything, plus if you click through anywhere on their “Daily Deals” you’ll get taken to a page where they have some noise-isolating earbuds available in a rainbow of colors for just $2.99 each.
If you need one pair of earbuds, it’s just under $5 shipped, which is still half off the Amazon price, but if you want to buy multiples (seriously, what do my kids do with earbuds that make them disappear??), it gets even cheaper per pair because the shipping doesn’t change.
No, they’re not the fanciest ones around, but from the reviews it looks like they’re decent, and you certainly can’t beat the price.
Bag a versatile bento
My love for the bento-style lunch is no secret, and we can agree to pretend it’s because I’m hip (haaaaa… no) and not because I never know what my children will eat on a given day, so I’m apt to just offer up small portions of a variety of items. Then again, a lot of so-called bento style lunch containers are… kind of fussy, and/or not dishwasher safe, and they leak.
Imagine my delight to see a marriage of two of my favorite things today on Kids.Woot: Bento lunch styling and my favorite lunch containers, Lock & Lock. Is this heaven? (No, it’s just the answer to lunch, silly.)
For $12.99 you get three square Lock & Lock containers, plus 2 bento-esque smaller, divided inserts, and the insulated bag that fits them all perfectly. Awesome!
Shipping is just $5 for up to three sets, which obviously makes it even more affordable per unit than if you need just one. No matter how many you want, though, I’d recommend buying sooner rather than later—this deal is likely to sell out.
