Less than 6 months away

Are you a die-hard Harry Potter fan? If so, you know that Book 7 is coming out this summer. If you aren’t the type to go to the bookstore at midnight on release day, perhaps you’d like to pre-order Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows from Amazon for 46% off. Just sayin’.

  1. I no longer trust amazon with my Harry Potter deliveries – 46% off or not. The last book was supposed to be delivered on Saturday I believe, and it came at some point the next week. NOT happy. In fact, I went out and bought a copy from a bookstore after I gave up on the mailman because I didn’t want to wait to start reading. On top of that, it took them 6 months to refund my money like they promised they would when I ordered it if it wasn’t delivered on the day of release.

Normally, I love amazon, and it wasn’t entirely their fault because UPS had a little bit to do with it, but if you want to make sure you get it the day it’s released, you might not want to trust them is all I’m saying here…lol!

  2. Karin: Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I’ve always gotten my pre-orders on time with no problems.

  3. And seriously, if you not as worried about it getting there on the very day, amazon’s prices are pretty hard to beat (and most of the time they are good about getting pre-orders to you on time), but the only surefire way to get it is to walk into a store and buy it…lol!

Thank you for letting me vent, though! 😀

  4. I’ve always gotten my pre-orders right on time from Amazon. In fact, when I pre-ordered the last two HP books, on my way out to get the newspaper in the morning I tripped over them – the delivery guy was there before I was even awake, apparently (and apparently, I didn’t learn my lesson the first time or I’d have looked down the second time, lol)! I hope my luck holds since I just pre-ordered!

  5. I normally have “Standard Shipping” for free. If I do this as “Standard Shipping,” will it come on the release day, or do I need to pay for shipping to ensure that that happens? I’m not used to pre-orders.
    Thanks!

  6. I ordered mine! I can’t wait.
I have Amazon Prime so hopefully I’ll get the overnight thing.

    ~K!

  7. Genevieve –
I pre-ordered the last two HPs from Amazon with their free shipping option (so for this one you’ll have to add something to the order, I believe, to get it up to the $25 minimum), and they were on my doorstep the morning of the release.
