Need a mop?

Gather round, kids. I want to tell you a story about when I was young—back in the Jurassic age. You know, we had it pretty hard, back then. Why, when we wanted to mop the floor, we had to take out a bunch of rope on a stick, and a bucket, and we had to put the clump of ropes in the bucket to get it wet, and then we had to rub it all over the floor, and then we had to ring out the ropes with our hands, and—

Hey! Where are you going? Come back!

Okay, okay… I’ll cut right to the chase. If you’re interested in a Bissell Flip Ease All-In-One Vacuum and Mop it’s just $21.24 shipped at Best Buy, today. The same model is forty bucks over at Amazon (check out the reviews there; mostly favorable).

It depends on the sort of cleaning you do, whether this could replace your regular mop or just be good for quick pick-ups, but think Swiffer on steroids.

  1. I still get on my hands and knees with a scrubby sponge . . . about once every 5 years. Maybe I should look into one of these things!

  2. Damn… the exact same mop at Amazon UK is £44.50 – about $90! :o(

  3. I hit return before I meant to. I was going to add “and Best Buy doesn’t ship internationally. Bah. :(“

  4. I bought one years ago (I have a thing for trying to find the best mop product, and yes, I KNOW hands and knees really is the answer ;)) Anyway – I use it for hardwood and tile, but really find if it is loaded with solution, it does NOT vacuum very well. One does need to make sure to get all the expelled water/solution sucked up. Overall, I have been happy with the mopping part of the machine. It is by far from perfect. Oh – and to get the pads clean, I do a bleach load of dirty cleaning stuffs…

I hate though that Bissell makes something (a steamer a few years back, which I loved) and then stopped making parts for it!!

  5. Geez, don’t publish mop deals right before Christmas. Some dumb man might get the idea that this is a good gift for his sweetie for Christmas! 😉
