I can’t help it, I saw Sex and the City yesterday

I’m trying to lay off the expensive shoe deals, really I am. But I saw the Sex and the City movie yesterday, and… well, I’ve got shoes on the brain.

It’s true that the discontinued or tightened pricematching policies at some of our favorite shoe stores have curbed my habit, but sometimes a deal’s a deal.

Right now at Amazon they’ve got a ton of Donald Pliner shoes marked wayyyyyy down. There’s both women’s and men’s deals to be had. It’s not like the old days, where you could score a $250 pair of shoes for $12, but it’s pretty good if you like high-end shoes.

  1. I am still amazed that people pay that much (and MORE) for a pair of shoes. I can’t imagine that at all.

  2. I love Donald Pliner shoes. Thanks Mir!

beachgal, it just depends on what your passion is. Some people spend $ on designer jeans, some spend it on make up, others spend big bucks for concerts or vacations. It’s whatever you fall in love with.

My FAVORITE pair of shoes cost over $300, but they have lasted over three years of regular wear throughout the year. They still look terrific, they are comfortable, and they make me feel better on a bad day. It might be a poor substitution for a long talk over coffee with a girlfriend, but my shoes won’t ever betray me.

Okay, jumping off my soapbox now. WOW, where did THAT come from?!?

  3. It’s just that some of us don’t have that kind of money AT ALL (not for shoes, jeans, makeup, concerts, vacations, etc). We can’t imagine being so frivolous with a couple hundred should it fall into our hands!

  4. Oh, I’m with you, Brigitte. Totally. But some people can afford to splurge (though not at regular price) and find a sale like that a lovely treat.

Me, I just enjoy admiring them from afar. 😉

  5. Ok…I agree that shoes are great but…I wear a size 11 and am very tall. I am looking for a pair of strappy brown or bronze sandals and they can’t make me three inches taller (read: lower heals.) I have been to Zappos, Shoes.com and Piper Lime with no success…help!
