Keep it hot or cold

I posted this over at Work It, Mom! this morning, but it’s such a good deal I’m going to put it over here, too.

Amazon has a 34 ounce stainless steel vacuum thermos marked half off at $20, and it’s eligible for the 4-for-3 promotion, which means if you get four of ’em they’re just $15 a pop. Why do you care? Well, first of all, you care because it’s got a 5-star rating with over 100 reviews (people are claiming it keeps things hot or cold for 12+ hours). Second, you care because come the holiday season you’re going to realize that your UPS man really deserves a little something for carrying all those boxes to your house all year, or you’ll realize you counted the number of your kids’ teachers wrong, or something, and this is an ideal multi-purpose looks-swankier-than-it-is, useful-for-everyone sort of gift to have on hand.

That’s why.

  1. Great Christmas gifts! Thanks! And can I tell you how much I am loving Amazon Prime? You’re the best, Mir!

  2. Ohhh…the price went up to 28.35 and it looks like it is no longer part of the 4 for 3 deal. 🙁

  3. Boooo to Amazon for changing their prices!
I would have wanted that. Shoot.

    Too slow.

  4. Losing this deal prompted me to add twitter to my phone. 🙂

  5. wow, They did change that quick. I did order it for teacher gifts & got the $19.99 price with the 4 for free deal. Thanks for posting. What is twitter?

  6. You can still get it for $20, plus 4-for-3. Just pick it from the Amazon seller at the right. They’re not in stock NOW, but they will be shortly.

  7. Methinks Amazon must have some kind of magical price changing software where if an item gets a whole bunch of hits it automatically bumps up the price. Boo!

  8. NOW it’s DEFINITELY more expensive. Amazon has it for $27.99.
I think continually-variable pricing will eventually be Amazon’s downfall.

  9. It’s now up to $28.35 and no 4-for-3! This would have been a perfect stocking stuffer for the men in my family.

  10. yes, the variable pricing AND no longer price adjusting will definitely make amazon less desireable. it already has for me. i added something to my cart, shopped for maybe 10 minutes more, and when i went to check out, the first items price had changed and they wouldn’t honor it. and this was on sept. 2, so it was just after their *new* rule, which no one really new about anyway. so i cancelled the whole order. poo on them.

  11. Bummer. I was hoping my students were getting Mir’s Tweets and ordered this for me.

  12. It’s back to $19.99 now.
