Third time’s the charm?

When I first posted this deal, several of you missed it. So I posted it a second time, when it came back, and several of you thanked me, but a few more folks bemoaned missing it, again.

So I’m posting it for a third time (which, geez, maybe they could just sell it until it’s gone and then stop, instead of popping it in and out of stock…?) and I promise this is the last time. Maybe.

Right now at Buy.com, pick up the Harman Kardon Drive + Play for just $17.99 shipped. This is the device to have for seamless integration of your iPod into your car’s stereo system.

And I paid a lot more for the one I gave my husband, so feel free to get one now and gloat. I won’t mind. Much.

  1. Woot! Looks like I got it. Now I’m all set for hubby’s b-day.

  2. I thought I had one the last time, but got an email saying they were out of stock and they credited my account. The sale went through again this time – let’s hope it sticks!

    Thanks Mir!

  3. WOW! Thanks! You can’t imagine how badly we have wanted one of these and, with the Mir seal of approval, I know we can’t go wrong. Santa can leave this in DH’s stocking! 🙂

  4. Thank you, thank you! I missed it the last two times!

  5. Just a little FYI… I was told this would cost $125.00 to install in my car. I sent mine back. I could put a new stereo with ipod hookup for that much 🙁

  6. I read some Amazon reviews saying you could install it yourself (by wiring into the stereo) – so as much as I’d love to get this for my husband, I’ll have to wait til I know it’ll work effectively in his 01 Dodge Ram. Any suggestions?

  7. Re installation concerns: My husband installed it himself. It does involve popping off the dashboard, so if you don’t know your way around a car, yeah, you’ll need to pay to have someone do it for you. Or make friends with someone who knows how and buy a pizza and some beer. Either way. 😉

  8. I got one of these last time, and will give it to my architect tomorrow for our anniversary.

One thing I did not research thoroughly is that it won’t work with a shuffle – only with ipods that have the docking bay. So, I had to buy him a new (used) ipod, too. I am the best wife ever.

  9. I can’t seem to add one to my shopping cart. Not sure if they’re out. Tried the whole “cookies” enabling thing.
Darn was hoping to start my Christmas shopping early!

  10. I am having that same problem, and I have tried 3 different browsers…

  11. Now it is saying

“Sorry, this product is no longer sold at the Buy.com website.”

    I think I missed out again! D’oh!

  12. I’ve missed this over and over and over again. They had it down to $18 at Amazon but you paid for shipping (about $12). Now it’s up to $26 but have Prime shipping. So if you really want it. . . It’s there. Re: Installation, I’m a bit worried myself, but am going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that my husband, once again, amazes me.

  13. its no longer available 🙁

  14. No wonder mine didn’t work – clearly it’s not just plug and play. Off to make freinds with a car-savvy person with more free time than may husband. If that doesn’t work, maybe I can sell it to one of you all.

  15. Got it last time around, have it installed, and LOVE it. Wasn’t quite sure about my husband drilling holes in my dashboard for the wires, but it’s well worth it.

  16. I ordered this the day you posted the lead, and they informed me today via e-mail that it’s not available after all and they’re refunding my money. Darnit.
