Ship it for free, even the huge stuff

For two days only—today and tomorrow (November 19-20)—every purchase of $50+ at Toys ‘R’ Us ships for free. This probably doesn’t seem like a very big deal; after all, you can get free shipping at Amazon on nearly everything, most of the time, right?

Here’s why it’s a deal: You’ll get free shipping on the things that no one ever offers free shipping on. Like… swingsets. Play structures. Backyard play houses. Pool tables! Whatever. The point is that if you’d been thinking of buying one of those large, expensive-to-ship items anyway, this may be the deal for you.

(Psssst! That goes for Babies ‘R’ Us, too, as they’re the same company. Need a crib? Changing table? Stroller? Free shipping, and no awkward attempts to stuff a giant box into your car.)

  1. Actually, swing sets are excluded…bummer man.

  2. Really? I specifically checked a couple of them!

  3. On their front page, it says excludes…..pools, etc. 🙁

  4. Says on the front page it excludes pools, outdoor playsets/swingsets, select sporting goods, video game consoles

  5. Okay, I went and checked again because y’all were making me think I was nuts. Heh. Actually, all “Homeplace” brand structures are included in the free shipping—and that includes a bunch of big yard play items like swingsets and play cottages.

I agree that it’s confusing, though.

  6. I just got the girls bikes for Christmas, helmets, pads, several toys, and a drum set all shipped for $225. The prices were the same as Amazon and etoys, but I saved a ton in shipping. Thank you!!

THAT just finished my Christmas shopping.

  7. LOL I went to check on the Homeplace items and nearly fell over. Nifty, but sure as heck not thrifty. I will just have to drool on the keyboard instead of shooing the kids off to their playhouse.
