Several of you have emailed me to point out that today’s Woot! deal is a Flip camcorder for $59.99. That’s a great deal, though make sure you understand what you’re getting: It’s a refurbished 30-minute Flip Ultra. Again, for the money, you can’t beat it. But do bear in mind that it’s not new, it’s not the 60-minute capacity, and it’s a generation behind the current model.
Still, it’s the one to buy if it’s for a younger person, and/or if cost is the main concern.
If you want to go whole hog, you’ll still want to check out Amazon’s bundle deal on the Flip MinoHD—it’s the latest version of the Flip (with 60-minute capacity, small/sleek design, HD-capability) and you can pick two accessories for free.
We have a 30-minute Flip Ultra and use it all the time. As soon as that money tree I planted in the back yard starts to grow, though, I’m getting the Mino. Heh.
FYI – the regular Mino (not HD) might be part of the bundle. Doesn’t say it anywhere on the page, but when I bought one a few weeks ago and a tripod, the tripod registered as free in my cart. Didn’t get a 2nd accessory, so can’t comment on that.

Just checked on the Woot at 11:50 am EST and it’s sold out! Guess I’ll wait until after Christmas for that one.
I love my Flip! I first bought the Mino but then returned it and got the Ultra – the ability to use AA batteries in the Ultra was the clincher for me (I never remember to charge things before I want to use them!)
