Groovy Nuvi price

I own a GPS unit that doesn’t have text-to-speech; that means it tells me to “turn right” or “bear left” but doesn’t speak street names, which occasionally drives me slightly insane. I want one with text-to-speech because I consider myself pretty far to the directionally-impaired end of the spectrum, and as such I really need all the help I can get. (Sad, but true.)

So I’m sitting here with my finger hovering over the “buy” button for this reconditioned Garmin Nuvi 260 at Buy.com. It has text-to-speech, not to mention a sleek, lightweight design and great ratings. And at $119.99 shipped it’s the lowest price I’ve seen on a Nuvi.

And I’m sure my husband would love to be able to keep the other GPS unit in his car. I mean, really, I’d be doing this for him.

  1. i got a new one of these for Christmas and i LOVE IT!

  2. We have a Garmin and it is fabulous. Works so much better than my brother-in-law’s Magellan.

And it’s fun to listen to it butcher the pronunciation of street names!

For example, it calls Mountain Industrial Blvd.
Mt. Indianapolis Blvd. Always gets a laugh outta us!

  3. so funny…my husband and I have built in GPS but he was going out of town on business so he took our daughter’s. I am not sure if it was to help him drive or just to make him look more official. I mean, how any gadgets does one man need…blackberry, GPS, laptop…I am sure there are more in there somewhere! HA!

  4. I love the way my friend’s Garmin says “Douglas Doctor” instead of “Douglas Drive”. They both are “Dr.” but!! 😉
