Probably not suitable for bondage

Ever since I stopped buying products containing high fructose corn syrup, my children have developed certain delightful nicknames for me. Like, “Big Meanie.” And “The lady who feeds up nothing but twigs and berries.” Being a mother is kind of its own reward, some days, you know?

So I was cruising around looking for something snacky/desserty for them that might score me some points without rotting their insides, and I came across these Clif Kid twisted fruit ropes. They appear to be sort of a cross between fruit leather and fruit gummies, and they’re organic and contain only fruit, fruit juice, pectin, and natural flavorings. Even better, the variety 24-pack can be had for as low as $10.62—it’s down to $12.49, and if you buy via Subscribe & Save you get the discounted price and free shipping.

If the kids don’t appreciate ’em, I may be able to use them to tie them up while we discuss wire hangers. The ropes look a little short, but I may be able to make it work.

  1. I buy these from the coop, and the kids love them. They are very short so you will have to use some scouting knot skills to use them for bondage.

  2. I saw the title and thought surely you’d be talking about duct tape. Darn.

  3. you are very funny at times. Your comments really made me laugh today. If you need some help with knots, I used to be a boy scout.

  4. Beware, though, any of these sticky-fruit treats are terrible for your teeth.

  5. My 11-year-old stepson loves those. They are his favorite of the pressed-fruit snacks.

  6. I love these. I was doing low-carbs when I first bought them, and that’s the only thing that kept me from eating and entire box and spending the next 6 hours in the bathroom.

My youngest, VERY picky almost-two year old loves them two. My older too are loyal to HFC syrup, as Iowans, they feel it’s their duty.

Thanks for this post, it’s time to stock up again.
p.s. I sort of feel like the smartest girl on the planet that I actually discovered something before you—but if I’m being honest—I found them through a previous link on your blog, so I guess I’ll go back to being a regular ol’ smart wantnot reader.

  7. “loves them TOO. My older TWO” Couldn’t let that stand with all my bragging about being smart…
