Y’all know I’m a Mac fan, but if you were in the market for a full-size laptop, you probably can’t beat this Buy.com deal on a eMachines 15.6″ laptop for just under $300 shipped. I mean, sure, you have to deal with Vista, but the price sure is right.
What’s perplexing, though, is that there’s a limit of 25 per customer. Which is such a shame, because my plans for world domination require 26 laptops. Curses, foiled again!
that’s a great deal…i’m in the market for a cheapy laptop for one of the teenagers.
and at that price, if you don’t like vista, just uninstall and slap another os on it.
though we’ve never had a problem with vista and i like it….not as intuitive as a mac os, but vista’s worked fine for us…
So you buy 25 and then have Otto buy the other 1. It just says per customer, not address!
A REAL evil genius wouldn’t let something like that stop them… Just sayin’ 🙂
I hate to go contrarian and all, but having owned and used a couple of eMachines, they’re worth all of what you pay for ’em. They were marginal in every aspect.
My old laptop is an emachine and I have to say you really do get what you pay for. The store I bought it at marked the price up and then put it on “sale” for $400. Thinking it was a good computer my aunt bought it. After a year it stopped working.
Jennefer, that was my experience also, on top of the odd compatibility issues. I’d stick with Dell, Acer, Toshiba, and HP for PC machines.
